Topic: Dive: The Medes Islands Secret impressions

I get ya. It's pretty important to me too. Anyway, that's exactly what they're trying to do so hopefully they'll be successful.

The developers have replied to me and they say that they have found the glitches and are working on a patch for it. I'm mentioning them in my review, but I don't think they're severe enough to take it down too many points as it's still an extremely enjoyable game. But if you're going for every single treasure in the game, you might want to wait and see if a patch is made available.

This game looked like something I'd get but I'm a bit broke at the moment...
Having grown up in the era of the 8-bit micro, glitches dont bother me that much unless they are 'last ninja 3' VC level.

I'm glad someone else feels the same way I do about this endeavour.

I haven't had much time to play this game in the last few days so I finally got the opportunity today and decided to fire it up. Unfortunately, it happened to me again. The game froze on me, twice actually. I was playing the 5th stage and I collected the main treasure and found the hidden dolphin statue. I went back up to the surface to check my progress and decided to go back again to finish collecting the remaining treasures and about five minutes in the game just froze. I had to unplug my Wii and start it again but after about ten minutes it did the same thing again. My progress from when I went down the first time and collected the main treasure and dolphin statue is saved but everything after that got erased. I'm kind of afraid to play the game now because I fear that it is just going to happen again. I really like this game a lot but seriously, something needs to be done about these bugs.

I've got this game and love it. However, yes there are glitches that I've encountered. There's a few times that I've fired the harpoon and the game freezes and then skips. Also, as mentioned, there's some treasures I've not been able to reach. These have been rare, but noticeable.

These are small frustrations on a game that I feel looks wonderful and plays just as well.

First of all, I'm sorry for my english. My spanish is better Second, thanks a lot for your interest in Dive. We have been working since July, 2009 to bring to you this tittle. And we are very proud of it. Reviews are really good and we are receiving good comments and congrats emails from players. We think that we've done a good, diferent and fresh tittle for WiiWare.
Corbie Dillard (who writes the Dive Review) told me past week that some users have experienced some glitches playing Dive. And it's true. We discover them after this conversation with Corbie. In some cases, few sparks treasures are unreacheable so, you can complete the adventure (about 4 or 5 hours of gameplay) but some players are not able to complete the game 100%. My apologies. We tested the game and complete them a lot of times without notice these glitches.
Since then we are working in an update and talking with Nintendo to solve this problem. Meanwhile, enjoy the main Dive gameplay.

@CosmonautGames: Thank you for coming onto the Nintendo Life forums and addressing the problems that are currently exist in your game. I am pleased to hear that you are currently working on a solution to fix these glitches and that a patch will soon be made available. I noticed that you mentioned the glitch where it renders the player unable to obtain 100% completion of the game. I have been experiencing a glitch where the game freezes while I am playing and I lose my save data. Is this problem also being addressed? I really do enjoy your game and I'm hoping that this patch will correct all the issues with the game.

See guys. They really do care. I wish more companies would make this kind of an effort to please their customers. Now that I know a fix is coming I'm downloading this game ASAP. Now hopefully the update will be available soon.

I'm not too bothered with being able to complete %100, but if some patch is possible that would be great. Hopefully Nintendo will be amenable to that.

Has anyone played Endless Ocean 2 AND Dive? I'd like to get one of the two, and I'm trying to decide.

I have, yes. They're different experiences. I guess it boils down to what you're looking for.

I guess I'm looking for the one that provides the most varied gameplay, with good replay value.

Hmm.. Well for obvious reasons, Endless Ocean 2 would provide more replay value if that's your biggest concern. So start there, but still definitely get Dive when you get the chance.

Sorry for the massive bump, but does anyone know if this game was ever patched?

No, it's not and it really annoys me. I played it yesterday for the first time (assuming that the bugs would have been fixed by now), and I encountered 2 bugs that prevented me from reaching small treasures in the form of invisible walls. There might be some more, because I haven't finished the game yet.

It's such a shame, because everything else in this game is fantastic.

Still no patch?`Time to get Endless Ocean 2 then. A shame, cause Cosmonauts other game, 5 Spot Party is great fun too, and the demo of Dive wasnt bad either. When is Cosmonauts thrid game, Inkub, coming to EU?

This is the latest WiiWare game I've bought (about three weeks ago) and I really love it. I've just opened up the 7th diving location, and the only glitches I've run across were the screen jumping for a moment when I fired off the harpoon gun, and a piece of coral that was just sitting about 7 feet out in front of everything else.

It sounds like it potentially gets worse in later levels? Glad to hear it's being worked on, even if I never end up running into any problems.
EDIT: Doh! Missed how old this thread actually is. Maybe they couldn't sort out a 100% fix for it.

As far as I know there still hasn't been a patch. I guess it really isn't a high priority for them to fix it. So many Wiiware games are released with problems unfixed. That's why I usually stick with VC games. At least I know they aren't buggy and rushed to the shop incomplete.
