So, 2016 started off with a pretty good helping of light gun games. It's not the Mario games that the EU has right now as well as Xenoblade Chronicles. I'm personally hoping for Super Mario All-Stars haha. Sometimes some of the responses to the unveiling of NOA eShop has been a bit scary for me lol, people are just super enraged when some of the EU VC games don't make it every Thursday. To me, I'm not mad at all, maybe a sliver of disappointment at the most, but at least the Wii Shop on Wii mode has a bazillion games, including Super Mario RPG everyone is just dying for to be on eShop (I'd sure love to have restore points on that game just to properly get Geno Whirls 9999 on that boss). But yeah, all in all I don't really see why there's such a fuss about it, especially if people already have copies of the games downloaded from the Wii Shop or cartridge/CD form. If anything, the people who really should be upset are the people who never played these games before. Ive never played Xenoblade Chronicles, but I'm not really minding it much. Maybe I'm just a super casual lol, I've actually never played any NES or SNES games until I got my Wii in 2010, which is why I find that and the Wii U to be dream systems to me. I don't really understand the massive gripes of people who already have copies of games that happen to not be on the eShop. I'm just satisfied if its not on the eShop, its probably on the Wii Shop. Haha maybe I'm super noobishly casual, but I'm just glad I'm able to play fun games. Sorry for the long paragraph lol
@CatMarioTime: Yeah, I'm the same. Like 90% of the VC games are new to me, so I tend to just get stuff that people recommend or that looks good to me. Since it's about discovering cool stuff, I don't get too worked up about what's not there because I guess I don't know what I'm missing?
Why not just merge the Wii U Virtual Console forum with the Wii U eshop forum, few people seem to care about keeping Virtual Console discussion on the Virtual Console forum...
I used to have a wine and moan about the weekly VC updates, but I have calmed in my old age.
What I would say to all you retro fans, take advantage of the Wii VC before it gets deleted. There are some gems to be had. There are all the Megadrive games, Master System games, PC Engine games ( Bomberman 94, Rondo of blood), SNES games that will never make it to Wii U (Starwars trilogy, R Type, Turrican), and there are the Arcades (Super Hang On, Space Harrier, Golden Axe).
These are all playable on your Wii U.
The Wii U VC has been an utter disappointment, and honestly the fact that EU has a lot of games that NA hasn't received yet is not the problem. The VC was the main reason I bought the original Wii. There's a handful of games that were not on the original Wii VC that are nice to have, but otherwise, the Wii U VC is pretty bad. Like others, I have been stocking up on Wii VC games as well as WiiWare lately because I think it could be shut down at any time, and half the games on there I don't expect to see on the Wii U VC.
If Nintendo learned anything, I hope that the existing Wii U VC games will be available on the NX DAY ONE, and then the library can build from there. Why Nintendo didn't give us the option to load Wii VC games onto the Wii U menu was a pretty big oversight in my opinion. The ability to use the Gamepad or Pro Controller for original Wii VC games would have been welcome too. The Gamecube controller adapter was also a HUGE missed opportunity. They release an adapter and re-release the Gamecube controller for ONE game!? Couldn't they have made it to where you could use it for games in Wii Mode, including Wii VC games? And wouldn't that controller be perfect for gasp Gamecube VC games?! I hope Nintendo gets their act together regarding the VC on the NX.
It's pretty good. there's a nice selection, and every week I'm excited to find out what Nintendo will surprise us with. Oh... wait. North America?
Bwahahahahaaha. Don't make me laugh (even though you just did). Just thinking about it makes me want to cry (even though I was just laughing).

Something tells me we couldn't use the Gamepad for Wii games.

@TingLz: Can't tell if serious "hopefully that was a joke".
I'm no programmer or expert and I'm not going to pretend to be one for the cliche "Nintendo is lazy" argument. I don't truly know how the process works at all for the Gamepad or even the Virtual Console.

Reggie needs to come up with his version of Iwata's "Please understand" to explain why NA is so behind on VC releases. Maybe then everyone will "understand" the situation.

Well from what I understand, Pandora's Tower as a Wii download on Wii U was able to use the Gamepad. I guess it just took the place of the Classic Controller? Not all Wii games could use the Gamepad, just ones that supported the Classic Controller. I don't think it's laziness, I think they just want you to pay to upgrade the VC games. And I probably would, but the only problem is the majority of Wii VC games aren't available on Wii U VC
Well this cofims my suspicions that people just want to show off on miiverse and are not good enough to play without restore points. Eu is the only one that should complain when something doesn't make its way from the wii vc to the wiiu. This is due to the fact that they still received the eu versions on the Wii shop which are inferior ports compared to the U.S. Versions most of the time. From what I gather they have been getting mostly the U.S. Versions on the wiiu. That's worth complaining about.
