I'm just curious: What is the difference between the Wiiware, 3DS, and Wii U versions of Art of Balance? Are they continuations, or rather different versions of the same game? Which one should I buy? If they're all different, then should I buy all three of them?

They are enhancement of each other. Wii U version is the latest with HD photorealistic graphics and some other stuff. Although I only own the Wii U version, I'd nevertheless say that there's no reason to own all versions.
I have the Wii U version and played the 3DS demo. In my opinion if you don't the portability the Wii U version is the one to get. It plays better on the game pad

This would make for an excellent party game. I only have the 3ds version. There are too many other games i want to double dip on this one. But it is a fun game.
The 3 versions have demos. Try them. They are the same game but the Wii U version has 5 player mode and new modes. But if we quit that extras is the same game with different graphic quality.
Me gusta jugar videojuegos. Soy de México. Sorry my english grammar. I love the Virtual Console, party and fighting games too.
I don't own a Wii U but I promise it's the best version. I'm guessing it has all of the levels of the 3DS version which would be 8 worlds. If it doesn't for some bizarre reason then don't bother. Then there's multiplayer and more modes.
The 3DS version is what I have, and it beats the Wii version by virtue of having all the same levels, and then 4 more worlds.
