I prefer the original but X2 it is still mega good. The hidden items are harder to obtain in X2. I wish X3 would come to the eShop because even I may never pony up for the cart!

X3 is pretty underrated to me. There's a lot to do, and it's fairly hard compared to the first two, but it's a lot of fun. Once you've played it a few times it's not so overwhelming and rather quick paced like the first two.

X1 will always be the best one, but X2 is pretty close to me. It's not as fresh as the original, but as a package it's actually quite great.

X4 is good, but I've never really liked the art style of the 32-bit games and the music lost a lot of charm. I wouldn't turn down the Saturn version if it ever got re-released, but I like it a hair less than the first 3. I'm fairly sure I'm in the minority, though, since I actually think X8 is pretty good despite really loathing X6 and X7.

Ahh... I didn't know you like to be torn apart by fire ants. When you come over to my house then I can show you some fire ants.

Umm… Care to have some gravy?

I would make the case that Mega Man X7 is one of the worst (non-broken) games of all-time. X6 is terrible and (REALLY) awful, but X7 brought it to a whole new level of bad.

I'm glad they made X8 so they at least didn't leave the series in such a broken state.

TOOOOTALLY disagree. X6 is broken. It is. There is a section where you NEED the armor pieces to continue. No X game required that before. X7 is at least beatable. Honestly, I actually enjoyed that game. More than X6. The music was good, the voice acting was so bad I got a kick out of it, and the 3D boss fights were a nice try even if they didn't work out. Plus, single handily the best sigma theme in the whole series.

Man, I can't even argue because I think they're both awful games and the worst Mega Man games ever made but I feel X6's terribleness comes from poor design while X7 is poor execution. X7 has poor controls, poor level design, no X until he's unlocked, and has no fun to it at all. X6 at least has the fact that it is 2D which makes the controls (which are still bad!) easier to adapt to.

But man, are they bad games. It's such a shame that the X series went so far downhill like that.

It's been a while since I've played through the X series, but I remember liking X5.
