So while rooting around GameStop's used games I came across this Zelda game. I figured why not play this until the new one comes out. Little did I know this was actually a very beautiful game. I never played it when I had the original Wii system. I must say, Nintendo did a fantastic job. The controls needed some getting use too but were very easy once I did. Also even not being all HD the artwork is something for the eyes. Great game I'd recommend to anyone!
just don't use old Wii remotes with a Rusty motionplus/nunchuck port and you'll enjoy it a lot. I still remember the problems... Link running right into the boss when I wasn't even touching the analog stick... that boring recalibrate screen every time I move the wiiremote with a little more power..... that destroyed the game for me... otherwise it was great!
goodbyes are a sad part of life but for every end there's a new beggining so one must never stop looking forward to the next dawn

There was a topic about the new Zelda Wii U and what ppl wanted it to be like. If Nintendo made it look like this game but in HD and open world with an ability to customize stuff like gear and what not, I would be happy.
After playing Skyward Sword, I don't know if I can play another Zelda game without the same sword play and other motion controls. Unfortunately, I suspect they will go back to the dual-stick and buttons controls since this is what you have on the GamePad.

Actually you never know since the system still uses the Wiimote and nun chuck. Lol could you imagine if they somehow incorporated the balance board in the game. Using it as a way to walk or run. Lol its a weird thought but hey it could be done in a different game as Nintendo's way to totally immerse you in a game. Well I just went off topic... And this is my thread... I just hijacked my own thread. Good grief....
This is the first and only Zelda game I purposely shelved after the first major dungeon. Sure, it wasn't much of a chance, but there was nothing about the game that felt worth giving it a chance. I didn't like the art style. I hated the controls, I hated the characters, the set-up for the story was boring as hell. It's not quite the worst Zelda I've played, but then again, there's quite a bit of competition for that title.
I'm sorry if you don't like what I'm saying, but I just did not like it at all.
I got it the other day after beating Wind Waker HD.
I've not played much, but I just have this feeling I'm not gonna enjoy this one very well, something about the art style and world doesn't grab me very well.

^ I'm very happy with this purchase. I can see how some people might not have liked the motion controls but I find the very smooth and fluid. If they use motion control in the new one, I can only imagine it just getting better.

Like you said, it wasn't much of a chance. Too bad for you. You missed one of the best Zelda games made and my personal favorite. But yeah, your opinion doesn't really matter since you only played like the first 3 or 4 hrs.

Never has there been a game where I have had such a like/dislike relationship then with Skyward Sword. At times I liked the gameplay but other time's I found it a little annoying. I don't really like the Legend of Zelda characters so I just wanted to hurry up with the NPC's and their sidequests. I thought the enemy design was good on the other-hand. Exploring the dungeons were fun for the most part but the collect the blue lights segments were not. All and all a good game that I enjoyed but not without its gaps where I had to really force myself through some of the sections.
To blessed to be stressed.
80's music makes me feel fabulous.

Yeah I love this game really much, actually have a hard choise between this or Ocarina of Time which is my favorite Zelda game. I just don't get why this game gets so hated by critics :c

Retro games, Modern games, all AWESOME!!!
It's a great game but I'm a big fan of the setting and feel of Twilight Princess. It just felt dangerous compared to the other games. With exception of Majora's Mask.
