Topic: New Super Mario Bros. Wii

Just watch this trailer again and tell me if you aren't excited about New Super Mario Bros. Wii... I think it looks really great!

Of course it looks just like NSMB on the DS, but this is going to be so much fun on the big screen with 4 player simultaneous gameplay.

What are your thoughts on this? Will you be preordering or waiting for the reviews?

I am excited for the multiplayer aspect of it. I think this game's going to be way too easy in single player or multiplayer modes, but at least it will be more fun in multiplayer. I say it's going to be easy based on this trailer. There are few enemies, and all of the platforming looks really simple. Not a lot of traps or hazards either.

Dude, it's a Mario game. I'm preordering this for sure. I honestly don't care that it looks like the DS one. It's Mario. It's awesome, and now it's 4-player. I want nothing else.

I almost cried when I found out about this and galaxy 2. Yes, I'm that much of a techno junkie.

This was my favorite E3 for Nintendo probably. 3 Mario games showed off! That is just great.

Thank you for reminding me to watch this trailer a million more times. Probably the game I'm most excited about for this year. I think it looks great, and I normally don't like 3D graphics. 4P co-op in a Mario game is a dream come true.

Yeah I don't pre-order games. I'll have to wait for Christmas on it - but hell, it looks well worth the wait.

I wasn't a big fan of the DS game... that's pretty much the only Mario platformer that has ever disappointed me. It was pretty fun, mind you, but the level design was sub-par compared to other entries in the series, with too many blandly repetitive areas and very few memorable stages.

However, this could be tremendous fun in multiplayer, so I'm greatly looking forward to it. I hope that they will come up with all kinds of clever ways to take advantage of the multiplayer, like 4 Swords did.

In any case, Mario Galaxy 2 is pretty much by #1 wish granted by Nintendo, so that will more than satisfy my solo-Mario needs if this turns out to only be enjoyable with others.

The DS one was easily my least favorite of the main 2D series (maybe more fun than the Mario Land games, but hard to say), but it was still better than most other platformers. I played it a few times. I was quite happy with the length of the game and the return to a Mario 3-esque map system.

I am just a tad concerned it won't be as clever multi-player as Four Swords or Little Big Planet since they recently said it was designed primarily as a single-player game. I think they were just saying that to shut up those complaining it wouldn't be fun to play alone, though.

Definitely preorder -- and since this comes out this fall/winter, doesn't it look like the type of game that would be sold out everywhere during the holidays?

This is true. I would HATE to be without this game at Christmas.
