I was a fan of super monkey ball, but mostly for the multiplayer games that were fun for a while. Tennis, racing, and stuff. The main story was good for a while, but it gets frustratingly difficult. I'm also not sure if I want to use the balance board...

I would be more interested if I had a balance board and/or it wasn't $50. I really enjoyed Banana Blitz, but I don't think I'll be picking up Step and Roll until it's budget priced.

I don't think that it requires the wii balance board.

It doesn't, but if I did have a balance board, it would be more enticing.

It looks like a nice, experimental game to me. Probably won't buy it myself, but my hat is off to the developers for at least trying something different.

Monkey Ball was DESIGNED for the Balance Board, it's a perfect match...that is, if they nail the controls which hopefully they do. I remember playing SMB 2 on the Gamecube, and while it was fun...it became too frusturating, and i got tired of it. using a balance board on the otherhand has the potential to be a total blast.
ya but SMB is usually packed with tons of levels...who knows, it may even be bundled with the Nintendo Balance Board. I'm praying for good reviews, because i'm intertested in the balance board controls...there needs to be more than just wii fit

Hmm... quite true. I'm still waiting for a good robot fighting game that uses the balance board and wiimote/nunchuck. Overturn did that for the most part, but it's not quite as satisfying as, say, Mechassault.
I'm watching this one closely. I never purchased Banana Blitz, but I did play (all the way through!) both Gamecube Monkey Ball games, as well as the DS touchscreen one (which was very challenging on some of the final levels).
I wonder how they will handle the balance board controls. It will certainly be an entirely different sort of game from the marble rolling bit in Wii Fit, for that works on the premise of a fixed camera, whereas monkey ball rotates the camera based on the ball's momentum (and management of the camera's movement is crucial to high-level monkey ballin').
I suppose I should pick up Banana Blitz sometime, since it's likely in the cheapest end of the bargain bin by now.

You should definitely pick it up. It was my first Monkey Ball game and I was pretty consumed with it for awhile. It was fun figuring out which monkeys to use for various stages, and having the ability to record your replays was even better. I have pretty sweet replays that I enjoy being able to go back and watch anytime.

I still haven't been able to beat the river marble game on the wii fit plus extra games. the one in the regular menu I beat on the first attempt (but played it after).
So ends a saga older than time itself. The World's oldest and fiercest army has been led to victory, and a lost generation is delivered from its fear of extinction. As the sun sets over the field of conflict the dinosaurs disperse, hoping never to set foot in this place a...
I started a thread elsewhere dealinmg with the games revw from ONM. My apologies:
"Super Monkey Ball recieved a 72%from ONM. The revw makes it sound fun but also makes it sound quite hard, especially with the balance board. It has a decent story mode, loads of activities, great visual atmosphere but is tricky with the remote but even moreso with the balance board.
Again, I think I'll give it a go, but I hope it doesn't try my patience so much so that I sell it on soon."
I look forward to seeingf what NL make of it
