Are those really the launch titles for the new systems? I already play Planetside 2 on my PC, and the only other game there that really interests me is Knack (for PS4). I don't even see anything on the Xbox side that I would want, except perhaps Ryse, but that's the kind of game where I really want to see lots of impressions and reviews before making a decision. Kind of disappointed on that front...

Yes probably not everything since we still have gamescom and TGS for announcements. Again still much better than the Wii U launch with something for everyome and at least two games on both systems I want.

HOW MANY MATURE / 18+ games? one?
Do you guys think that only kids are buying consoles?

Where are Driving Simulation games? Where are Sci-Fi, Open World Shooters? And I am not talking about 3rd party.
Nintendo should start developing games for adults.

I am an adult, and I think Driving Simulation and Sci-Fi open world shooters are painfully boring and immature.

You're just buying into the narrative that EA, Ubisoft, Activision, Sony, and Microsoft, et al. have written for you if you think those two genres constitute 'adult', 'hardcore', and 'mature' gaming....To me, Pikmin 3 is what i'm excited for....Because, its unique, weird and incredibly beautiful to watch in action. It actually requires some amount of strategy and brainpower unlike say Halo or Forza for instance..

If Nintendo abandons everything it's stood for ---- fun, gamey experiences that can be enjoyed by everyone ---- and starts making high tech hardware, and pandering to adolescent male 'power fantasies' (to quote Warren Spector) by creating copypaste military shooters, heroic sci-fi action adventure games, and super- car driving sims, then there ceases to be any sort of differentiation in the console gaming space..

Nintendo fills a niche for people who aren't impressed with games that use ultra violence as a gameplay mechanic crutch, who aren't impressed with ultra realistic graphics, physics and cinematic, Hollywood-esque stories....who prefer having fun and more pure gamplay experiences..

Just played some Halo 4 yesterday on dominon with sixteen people and my team had to coordinate what weapons wjere dropping where what teams we would break into and the best possible way to defend our bases and capture the enemy bases. We also had to factor in Ordnance Drops and what load outs each indiviual member of our squad would carry. We factored all these things to factor in Map control near the bases and power weapon drop to keep the momentum of battle shifted toward out favor trying to keep our enemy on the defensive so they wouldn't have time to break down our defenses.

I also played a some matches of Forza 4 the other day and lost spectacularly despite having an S class car. I chatted with the guy who beat me and his custom tuned his car separately part to part to make it excel in the type of course it was. I was able to out speed him in the straight away but based on his customiztions he was able to keep more speed and momentum around turns than I was

But to address your point. I looked at some of Microsoft's and Sony's first party games releases for the year,

Microsoft Studios
Xbox 360
Gears of War Judgement
Fable Anniversary
Zoo Tycoon
Project Spark
Ascend Hand of Kul
Battleblock Theather
Charlie Murder
Crash Course 2
Lococycle
Max and the cursed brotherhood
Motocross madness
State of Decay
Super Time Force
World series Poker: Full House Pro

Xbox One
Forza motorsport 5
Ryse son of rome
Kinect Sports rivals
dead rising 3
Lococycle
Zoo Tycoon
Killer Instinct
D4 Episode 1

Sony World wide studios

Playstation 3
Diggs Nightcrawler
Dust 514
God of War: ascension
MLB the Show 13
Sly Cooper: Thieves in time
Beyond Two Soul
Gran Turismo 6
Invizimals the lost kingdom
Puppeteer
Until Dawn
Rain
Ratchet and Clank: Into the nexus

Playstation 4
Knack
Killzone shadowfall
Drive club
Planetside 2 (still a bit iffy)
DC Universe Online (iffy as well)

Playstation Vita
MLB the Show 13
Soul Sacrifice
Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time
Invizimals the alliance
Killzone Mercenary
Tearaway

(In hindsight some of that PS3 stuff should have been pushed to PS4,

Nintendo

Wii U
Lego City Undercover
Game and Wario
Super Lugi U (does this count as a seprate game?)
Pikmin 3
The Wonderful 101
The Legend of Zelda: WInd Waker HD
Wii U party
Wii Fit U
Mario and Sonic at the 2014 Olympics
Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze
Super Mario 3D World

3DS
Fire Emblem Awakening
Brain Age
Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon
Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Gates to Infinity
Lego cit undercover; the chase begins
Donkey Kong Country Returns
ANimal Crossing new leaf
Pokemon X and Y
Mario and Luigi dream team
The Legend of Zelda a link between two worlds
Mario Party
Tokyo Crash mobs
Harmoknight
Kersploosh
Mario and donkey kong minis on the move
Dillions rolling western: The last ranger

All good lists of games with the Wii U one being the most impressive toward my eyes. The thing here you notice is despite your rants against mcirosft and sony both of their lineups are far more diverses than nintendo's having a variety of games types spanning a bunch of different genres with some platformers, shooters,RPG, and beat em ups. Some games being uber realistic while others being the more cartoonish type. While Nintendo's have been homegized with mostly similar styles of products and play.

Technically it's only been oput for 8 months, and Nintendo's banking on Pikmin 3 as its Killer App...which it won't be, so I get your point. The real Big games won't be out until late next year, and by then it may be too late...

Which ended p being a big problem with how secretive Nintendo has to be with its alittle info at a time unless our system isnt selling so here's a trailer for X. I can name at least one game for both PS4/XB1 that would me have getting one next year, but it took the Wii U two years to get a game that I would grab the system for.

I'm almost starting to think Nintendo should've have the Wii U launch after the competition, because they clearly underestimated the "learning time" of working with HD technology and so now the console is just sitting there with nothing going for it atm. But that probably would have been worse anyway, so I don't know...

But as has been mentioned before, Nintendo had its hand forced since the Wii was on life-support, so likely the thought was the Wii U would pick up where the Wii left off, which obviously didn't happen. I really don't know how things will go down by this point, it all really depends on what goes on the end of this year.

Man I am honestly worried about Wii U's future 3rd party support. With the first party stuff, there's no way any of the Wii U versions of Ubisoft games are going to be able to sell more than 200,000 copies. I hope I'm wrong.

Zelda U is the game I really want. I was planning on getting a Wii U Oct/Nov, but my PS3 just bit it, so now I need to replace it, instead.

People keep telling me "HEY IF I WANTED 3RD party GAMES I WOULD BUY PC OR PS4"

Like we are paying 300 GBP just to play 10 Nintendo games? Nintendo games should be about 30% of entire Library. CONSOLE is mostly about 3rd party, not 1st party only.

This was pretty much a given and this holiday season will make or break the Wii U having good support. Now its time to see if Nintendo Gamers will put their money up to support third party games. Like even if you plan to get the game get it on WIi U versus any other platform

With PS4 and Xbox1 on the shelf as the newly released, more powerful consoles, Wii U does not stand a chance to be a winner during Xmas this year.

Adults and even kids will look at all the 3rd party games on the other 2 consoles along with the specs and say "hmmm, Wii U is missing 80% of the games + is much weaker and has the weakest online as well? forget that."

People like me will buy more than 1 of course to play every game, but for those that have to choose just 1 machine the vast majority will choose PS4, then Xbox1, then Wii U this xmas. Only Ninteno fanatics would choose the Wii U as their only console and those are not that many, most Nintendo fanatics even know to get a Nintendo handheld and not home console if you want to play a lot of games.

As much as it looks like i'm a Wii U Hater (. But the WIi U doesn't need to win the holiday season.

Still it won't be next year till the big software comes out.
