No, there was a clip shown to a press person depicting Olimar chopping up what first appears to be Pikmin but ends up just being carrots. And Miyamoto mentioned the possibility of the shorts expanding into a full series if they are popular enough. So the secret memo videos are definitely not related whatsoever.

I guess they forgot about the clips or something. They haven't even brought them up again, or just hoped that every else forgot. I'm still looking for more ways besides NY events to get Kid Icarus Uprising cards. I guess they forgot about those too.
