Depends on the person I'd assume and what you define as drought. I have a friend complaining about the drought becuase he bought the Wii U and pretty much every major game at Launch. So not having a lot since the year started looks badly from his POV.

Also drought usually tends to mean new releases and not the back catalog already out. The Wii U is in a bit of a drought for retail AAA games.

quality new releases post-second Christmas. By those standards it's pretty bad. Doesn't help that every indie ever had to delay their game.

this is more for people who are looking for something to play who play enough Wii U to justify complaining about it and not enough people bought either game so...

Keeping me busy at the moment. Still got Pikmin 3, Wonderful 101, Resident Evil, Amazing Spiderman, Sonic Lost Worlds, Pacman & Call of Duty Ghosts. To get in my Wii U collection, maybe Mass Effect 3 but unsure as never played the first two.

@turnmebackwards In all honesty, Mass Effect is a very story driven series, and if you haven't played the first two, it'd make little sense to get 3. Scenes won't have the weight they'd otherwise have. Not sure if the Wii U version even provides something to recap the first two games, so you might go in not understanding a thing.

Graphics come after gameplay. Every time. It takes more than being pretty to be a good game.

I am pretty sure there was a optional recap for those that didn't play the first two, not 100% sure as I don't own the Wii U version but I remember hearing about the recap thing... I think

People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

Yeah, it has a story recap at the beginning where you can make a few choices but all in all, but who cares about video game stories beyond one game??? If I cared that much about some long drawn out story I would buy a romance novel with some piece of man candy on the cover.

I would say yes, but with the caveat that you'll need to have patience with it - there are some stumbling blocks here and there, and the learning curve tends to be a bit erratic at times, but the game is really fun once you get the hang of things.

I'd also look up that video tutorial on youtube as there's a lot of things you can missed/are not explained well enough/early enough.

If that's the case why care about any sort of serialized media. I mean it was crazy that The avengers took plot threads from the films that came before it.

Seriously though the motion comic sucks as a recap to ME1&2.

Wonderful 101 is almost, if not last years GOTY for me. I can understand why a lot of people didn't like the controls, BUT if they don't bother you it's an amazing game. If you like collecting items by finding secrets, epic boss battles, a super unique way of gameplay with depth, challenge.. and COLORS!!!!. Then this game is for you.

Might want to check the demo first though..

Trying to complete more kong and puzzle items in DKC:TF, Rayman Legends, Advance Wars and Pure Chess at the moment.

Of course I also have a gazillion of other games, some on Wii U, and a lot on Wii, that I haven't played but still own.

Mass Effect: 3: SE was amazing on Wii U. I haven't played the first two, and couldn't care less. It's not just the comic recap. You have an in-game encyclopedia that explains everything over and over again ad nauseam. The Game Pad features made the game anyway for me, so I wouldn't want to play it on a primitive controller.
