Nintendo had reiterated that they are not against free to play games... at least from third parties. While Nintendo said that they don't want to produce any free to play games unless they come up with concepts that fit, they would welcome other third party free to play games.
This got me to think about how games like Nexon's Vindictus and MapleStory, Red Duck's Alliance of Valiant Arms (A.V.A.), and Crytek's upcoming Warface could work on the Wii U. For the last two, I think that they could implement Wii Remote + Nunchuk controls, the ability to plug in your own keyboard / mouse via USB (for all free to play games), AND the option to use the GamePad. Vindictus and MapleStory would... well just work on a controller. Hell, Vindictus supports external controllers. Yeah, there will a bunch of hotkeys missing and the inability to type in what you want to say easily, but just use a headset to communicate with your buddies and the GamePad as your controller.
Go nuts.
