Yeah, I know this topic's going to get locked really fast, but I still thought it necessary to voice my thoughts here. For all my criticism of the Wii U, I finally got one for myself. With it, I bought New Super Mario Bros U, Assassin's Creed III, Nintendoland, and since it was the Wind Waker version I got a fancy Zelda-themed controller and a digital copy of Wind Waker.
Wind Waker seemed like exactly the same game I played on the gamecube. Nothing wrong with that but I may or may not actually finish it given that I already beat it back then. I haven't tried Assassin's Creed yet, and I'm kind of wondering whether I need to have played Assassin's Creed 1 and 2 first, which I haven't. My wife seems to surprisingly enjoy NSMBU more than I am. I played NSMB2 on my 3DS already, and it seems like much the same game. I never really beat my copy of NSMBWii either... She also picked up a Sketchpad app on the eShop which she thoroughly enjoys as well.
By far the best game out of the bunch I'd have to say is Nintendoland. I took it over to a friend's house with two Wii Remotes and we all had a blast playing it. We've only been through 5 of the games on there, chosen at random by the train, but I haven't found a bad one yet. Metroid Blast is the clear winner here, though the Assault Missions were definitely more fun than Vs multiplayer.
So... yeah. Not much else to say other than I'm having a blast with my new console. Looking forward to Super Mario 3D World when I get back from vacation, and all the rest of the games yet to come, like Smash Bros, Mario Kart, Donkey Kong, Deus Ex, Bayonetta, X, and Pikmin 3.
