I hope it has cross play with the 3DS version. Also the game could work so well with Miiverse. It's a guaranteed seller.

Who else is excited for a Wii-U version?

I'm not. I think Animal Crossing works way better as a handheld.

The first two entries were on home consoles, I don't see why you would be against this.

I think the thread should changed to reflect the fact that it hasn't been confirmed yet.

My wife doesn't like the 3ds at all because how small the screen is but she liked what I showed her of new leaf on YouTube..... So yes I would pick up a Wii U copy for her if they put on the Wii U.

I personally never played the game but it doesn't look like anything I would enjoy either but nothing wrong with options...

For my first Animal Crossing game, I rather enjoyed AC:CF (Wii)
And I feel a console version is most likely easier when you're planning on having multiple people (Family/Friends) living in your town

Though one of the minor changes that seriously needs to occur is the placement of patterns on the ground,
Give us the option to place patterns under Town decorations (AC:NL). And even potentially an option that'll split patterns perfectly so they can mesh against cliff sides and other awkward corners and objects. Since currently you'll have a perfectly wonderful path, until you're unable to place a pattern against the entrance of a house, and remain with this one awkward grass spot. And personally I've always found it a little aesthetically disconcerting, and when you're OCD about the layout/prettiness of your town it really throws you into the deep end Haha

I don't see how that matters at all but I'll explain.
I've played Wild World. City Folk and New Leaf. (I'd rate them New leaf, Wild World and City Folk from best to worst.)
I played Wild World for 4-5 years diligently, finished almost everything. I decided to get City Folk because it looked cool (And who else got that caged in vibe from Wild World? The city sounded promising and new.)
I played City Folk a lot at first but it didn't last even a year. One of the things Wild World lacked was Holidays which City Folk brought back but that's the complete opposite of what makes sense considering on Holidays people are Celebrating the holiday so your either at your families house and can't get to your console or you're at your house and playing your console in the middle of the gathering*. Granted you might not get a chance to play your handheld either during those times but it's easier to play in between or at night when you can just play it lying down before sleep. Also the holidays I experienced on City Folk took a while to get through if you wanted all the furniture, it was just a hassle.
And other than that complaint it's just more ease-of-access stuff, you can bring it on vacation, play it in the car (I don't use my console daily while I do my handheld)

*Or you're not celebrating that holiday at all.

The only reason I'd get a Wii U version would be to play New Leaf on the U. I'd want my town automatically synced so I can play on either console. AC is great for 3DS because it goes everywhere with you. I'm traveling this week and don't have to neglect my town.
