Ok, so it happens, I am looking for good shooters on VC. I only own one; Soldier Blade, which i adore. I have been reading reviews on the site, and had a look at some of the videos. I feel however I have no better grasp of what ones I would like.

The biggest problem is, I don't want the experience to be worse then Soldier Blade, I have looked mostly Axelay, and Blazing Lasers. Not sure if i will like horizontal shooters as much either.

So, I need opinions, have a suggestion, throw it at me. Made up my mind for me? Trow it at me as well, i just need some opinions.

Here are a few shooters which I can strongly recommend: Lords of Thunder, Gate of Thunder, Blazing Lazers, Axelay, M.U.S.H.A. and LifeForce. I have Soldier Blade as well and if that is the experience you're after go with Blazing Lazers or M.U.S.H.A. I would recommend watching some gameplay videos on YouTube as well. It may help you find the one that suits you best. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

I've been thinking about getting Star Parodier. How does this game compare to other shooters?

Personally I like Final Soldier. The only problem is that it becomes really really punishingly evil a few levels in but the gameplay is solid. Also, the soundtrack has a few really great tracks.

Well, considering MUSHA is 900WP, and Blazing Lasers (Kick as name as it so happens) 600WP, is the extra 300WP worth it if you compare, I mean, MUSHA has style, but i rather not fork out 300WP extra for something that might be just a tad better?

You'll love Blazing Lazers and Star Parodier. There's also another 2 or 3 Star Soldier titles available. If you still want more after that, then go for every shooter that NintendoLife gives a good score.

Also, which one is longer, MUSHA or Blazing Lazers? Because the way i saw it when i first got Solider Blade was that, it was the best VC shooter points could buy considering modes, cost, and length.

I would Definitely choose Blazing Lazers over MUSHA. I felt MUSHA was kind of short but its still fun to play. I still haven't beaten Blazing Lazers but it might be because I'm playing it on a harder difficulty too. Blazing Lazers still has more stages and cooler power-ups than MUSHA does. I find Blazing Lazers to be the better value at only 600 points.

OK! Blazing Lazers is winner! and some time down the track, i will get Axelay. Because i found out that it does both horizontal, and vertical.

REJOICING!

Yeah, Axelay is one game no shooter fan should ever be without and I hope you enjoy Blazing Lazers!

Blazing Lazers is the stuff of fantasies. It is everything i liked about Solider Blade, but harder.
Would have been nice with some other modes, but i got up to area 7or 8, and died, and I am soooooo looking forward to doing it again!

If you want to try a horizontal shooter that's a bit different I suggest Super Fantasy Zone for Megadrive. It's not Defender, but it's pretty nice (and quite challenging!).
