Aquateen510, be glad we receive ANYTHING this week for the Virtual Console! I used to be like you, hating one-game week with a passion. However, after two weeks WITHOUT an Virtual Console game, I realize that I should be happy when we receive anything for the Virtual Console.

Just because we don't have mutiple game weeks doesn't mean you should be complaining again.

Well, yeah.

It is a pretty lame release. We already have the game, and there're only superficial differences in this one. I don't fault anyone for being "impossible to please," but I do think complaining about it with a million threads will do no good, and I'm not disappointed in the number of releases. One game a week is a much more regular release pace than the other consoles for retro games, even if PS3 is starting to pick up the pace now (took them long enough).

Come on, friends,

i've read that techmo VCA is actually worse than the NES version. i had fond memories of the NES version but after i got it, i regretted it. it's aged horribly.

and why do we need to be "thankful"?? when you start setting expectations low, this is the crap you get. demand more/better, get more/better. we are the customer. we have the buying power. if they don't want my cash, don't release games or don't release games we really want. i ain't buying this crap...for the sake of buying just anything.

To be honest, there was a bit of this in my initial reaction to the release. Two no-VC weeks, then they release a SPORTS game (bleh right out the door, imo), and even worse, it's already available on VC in another format! (not passing judgment on superiority as I have no interest in either, but I don't think any game already available in a different format should release by itself)

But still, it IS a VC release, and I would rather have this than nothing at all yet again. Barely.

Well, at least we got something. Still it would've been nice to get a game that the majority are asking for, especially after a two week hiatous. I'm more curious about the situation with Cave Story. It went from Late April/Early May to shortly after E3 and currently to "Summer". That's the real "WTF?" imo.

Zelda Wii
New Super Mario Bros. Wii
Sin and Punishment 2

I have to wonder if Tecmo Bowl was released only in response to the outcry over the last two weeks about not getting a Virtual Console game and that if gamers hadn't complained then America wouldn't have gotten another VC game this week.

Gee more complaining about complaining... sigh!

I have to agree with Aquateen510-san, not because I am against Tecno Bowl, but because Aquateen510-san is consistent. Iremember the day when people were complaining about 2-release days and 1-release days, and now I am seeing people who suddenly became thankful that they HAVE a Vrtual Console release day. (Did not deadbattery-san leave VC-Reviews because deabattery-san thought that everybody "fell in love" with the 1-Release days?)

Please note that I am not complaining about the releases, but simply noting the lack of consistency that NintendoLife users seem to have. Remember that I was giving Nintendo TWO MONTHS before I would start to really worry about the fate of Virtual Console.

I am now going to check to see if Tecmo Bowl is part of that huge Nintendo wish-list we sent some time ago.

Actually, I like Bowser AND hairy bellies!

@MarkyVigoroth: You have a good point. We've been adapting to whatever Nintendo gives us, eventually stopping complaining about it in favor of complaining when they give us even less than THAT! So as far as that goes, Aquateen510's consistency is refreshing. It can also come off as annoying to those of us who go along with Nintendo's evil plan (just being melodramatic here).

Adapting is much more preferable than complaining every time we get less than two Virtual Console games a week. Its become very clear that things won't ever be the same as the good old days before WiiWare so its pointless to complain every week - it just doesn't do anyone any good.

True, it doesn't really do any good complaining about it. But I think we (Nintendo fans) tend to get a bad rap for following Nintendo blindly even when we're treated like crap because of it. Overall, I can't honestly say that reputation isn't deserved. I feel like a Goomba, willingly walking right off the cliff because I'm supposed to (illustration taken from yesterday's top ten list on GameFAQs).

We can't win. If we complain we get a bad rep for not being grateful with what we're getting and if we don't complain then we get a bad rep for following Nintendo blindly whatever they do.

It really is a lose-lose situation.

But non-Nintendo fans don't think we SHOULD be grateful with what we're getting, so I think complaining might be the better option. Actually, I think they'd only be happy if we ditched Nintendo entirely, so as far as that goes, it really IS a lose-lose situation.
