I want to dedicate some space here on Nintendo Life to games and 'rarities' that have fade away from the memories of most of us. So, feel free to post concept-art, box-art, footage, articles or other stuff that reminds us of certain games that are either forgotten or radically different from the final product.
The Super Mario Sunshine Beta had Humans in it instead of Pihantas.
I seen pics of them too.
and don't forget the Kirby star ride beta for the N64
For you, the day LordJumpMad graced your threads, was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday. [url=http://www.backloggery.com/jumpmad]Unive...
Here are some early screens of Donkey Kong Country for the SNES...
A lost or alternative version of a level it seems...
A different map as you can see; the route is different, and also, every stage on the map is marked by a Kremlin, as opposed to the final build in which the players progress is marked by only one Kremlin...
Thanks to KiwiArcader on Retromags for providing the scan of Edge issue 12, September 1994.
FX Trax was indeed the 'forerunner' of Stunt Race FX that was several times announced and shown on the CES shows. The major difference is the concept behind the game i think; switching from a more 'reality based racer' to a 'cartoony' one.
The Lawnmower Man II is of course the actually released Lawnmower Man for SNES, one of my fav' titles on it, created by Simon Pick. A beta version of the game is also brought into the open. It contains another soundtrack, different sound effects, other intro sequence, the order of levels was altered, some level designs were changed, and it seems a harder game. Unfortunately i could not find any footage of it. The upper screen however seems a unique one, as i didn't encounter a gigantic head of the antagonist 'Job'.
These characters were shown by Keiji Inafune himself in an internet interview. In that interview he flipped through several of his sketchbooks and one of the was the Rockman 3 sketchbook. Along with a sketch of Pinbot, these unused characters were shown. Scaling them up in Adobe and looking very carefully I traced along the blurred pixels to reproduce each character.
There's a great website all about the cancelled videogames... I forget the name of it now and the URL is on another computer X_x Anyone know the site?
Maybe one of the links in my signature refer to it? Lost Levels? Unseen64? X-Cult? I haven't yet encountered other sites with such comprehensive coverages....
