TC is banned from using my language. Rude was creating this topic title, knowing it could somehow find its way in front of my eyes and cause me to grimace.

And who dies on NES metroid? Everything hits for like 15-30 damage and you get the Varia suit 30 minutes into the game... I don't find it any more difficult than any NES-era games...nothing told you where to go or what to do. Can't go somewhere? Might as well roll up into a ball and bomb into that wall...I dunno Metroid games always made sense to me.

Maybe I should clarify that by "lasting" I didn't mean surviving but instead enduring... It's true, the game is not harder than any other NES title... I just don't feel compelled to find out how easy/hard it is... But who knows, maybe I'll play through it eventually, I've played through worse games through sheer force of will (LAGOON!!!)...

I respect that opinion completely. That's actually a good way of describing Metroid's difficulty, what with the not feeling compelled to figure out how hard it is due to an unnecessarily unforgiving respawn system.

I tried to beat Lagoon and failed...one of those ROM-era games that looked like I should like it...and it was just garbage. I gave up on Golden Axe Warrior similarly.

I strongly suggest going for the SNES version first to anyone. It's not aged much whilst the contrary is true for the NES one.
