Topic: Best place to sell collection?

So to pre-order my switch the long haired general says I have to clear out my current collection.

So where is the best place to sell? I'd rather not eBay it, would rather it went to a good home!

Got boxed original NES's, games, organiser, original arcade controller, multi tap and more.

Happy to post up photos to get a steer on what they are worth. But any advice or recommendation greatly received!

I saw the local Cex had a retro section. Any one with experience of using the?

Thanks in advance

As @ogo79 said, the SNS-RZ-USA is a prime giveaway that it's not a legit retail cart.
And yes, he is (usually) always right, and he is (almost) the sexiest gamer out there (not counting me) ;)

You an never be sure, wherever you sell.

CEX will give you pennies for everything. You will more than likely get more money from eBay, although selling there can be a lot of hassle - dealing with lots of individuals, waiting for autions to end, sending out different packages, rather than in one bulk load. Also possibility of buyer complaints (it's defective/didn't arrive etc.) etc. etc. etc.

I don't know where you are based, but in the UK we have car boot sales/garage sales and free ads. GumTree, Craig's List (US?) are also options (but like eBay there are pitfalls and inconveniences). There are also sites such as sellto.com, moneymagpie. One that advertises in the UK is chilloutgames.co.uk/sell, which seem to offer fairly good rates for retro-based stuff.

Retro events are also a good place to sell (and buy!) - you'll have lots of people looking for retro hardware and software, all in the one place at the same time. Here's a list of events in the UK during 2017/2018 - http://www.funstock.co.uk/retro-gaming-events - admittedly they are all after the release of the switch.

What about your local gamestores - GAME/GAMESTOP whatever? Perhapps they'll do you deals?

There are loads of possble avenues available.

Or you could just trade in your other half and put whatever you get towards a Switch
