Should Nintendo create a Legend of Zelda game using the update style of New Super Mario Bros. (i.e. using modern graphics to update a 2D game)? Minish Cap, Phantom Hourglass, and Spirit Tracks don't count, because that was Wind Waker turned 2D (especially PH). Basically, you would use Skyward Sword graphics to remake A Link to the Past, etc.

I think that's kind of what Four Swords Adventures was supposed to be. And why doesn't Minish Cap count? It was very much like the classic 2D games, the only parts that resembled Wind Waker were the character designs. But to answer your question, I think the series would definitely benefit from having more games like that.
What is with all these random Zelda threads? Sorry Starfox, I like you man but everyday I find something new in the retro forum regarding Zelda. Zelda is not just retro. How about creating one Zelda fanclub-discuss-everything thread?
ZELDA! ZELDA! ZELDA! Yeah Link is the man! GO Hyrule's hero!

You mean like a new installment of the Four Swords game? I can totally picture it. It will have similar gameplay to its GameCube predecessor, but with more hours of gameplay and HD graphics. Plus, while players would normally play with four Wii Remote Pluses on the big screen, the game would occasionally shift to the Wii U controller for a player/players that are underground. I could also see the Wii U controller as a new Tingle Tuner-esque device so a second player could help out Link.

Not a typical remake please. A new Four Swords or a game with Zelda 2 like gameplay with an original new main character, not Link could work out great though.
