I wasn't planning to pick up a PS4 until the next Bethesda Game Studios or Rockstar North release, but this might have just changed that. I love the old Battlefront games, and this looks like it's going to be incredible.

Haha me too! I'm thinkin of getting one next month so i can play the Witcher and Bloodborne, finishing both in time for battlefront!
Lots of people complaining about no space battles in this game but I couldn't care less. I loved the Rogue Squadron series and the majority of the battles took place on planets in those games anyway. I'd rather be strafing ground targets than flying around in an empty void having dogfights.
It was totally fine for everyone to get excited for non-Gameplay footage of Zelda at last year's E3 though...
No it wasn't. It's never good to set expectations before you have anything to base them on, and there were people calling BS back then, too. It's just that they got drowned out or shut down because it's "Nintendo". Star Wars doesn't have the sort of reputation that causes as many people to blindly follow whatever has its branding like sheep, so a few sensible individuals are a bit easier to pick out.

Hahahahahaha WHAT!?
The fact there is an industry that can make money producing Star Wars christmas tree decorations and R2-D2 cake baking trays sort of disproves your belief.
"As many" Read more carefully next time. There are tons of Star Wars geeks, but the games aren't the kind of System sellers that are treated as the holy grail by most of its fans and a good portion of the industry, so there are more fans willing to be cautious - even The Force Unleashed, which sold very well, was poorly recieved and the subsequent sequel sold a fraction of the amount despite the higher installbase by then. I checked various sites, and I couldn't find more than a handful of people decrying the lack of gameplay footage shown to the public, but they were easier to find and weren't shut down as often as the handful of people in the Zelda example.
Yeah, that stuck out to me as well. Quite obviously worded so it could mean almost anything. Ok, so it's using the same game engine but is being run on the most advanced PC in existence on ultra ultra mode.
They really need these kinds of trailers to just be PS4 of XBONE footage, otherwise it ends up being a lie.

That footage was about the right graphical quality you'd expect for a high-end Wii U game though. This has "impending graphical downgrade" written all over it.

Im a bit more optimistic, PC gamer said in their preview that the gamplay preview they saw were very close to the trailer and that it was running on the PS4.
Wow, I thought I'd just report that I just saw a massive google ad (e.g on the top right-hand side of this page) for this game! 7 months in advance. Looks like they're really investing big money in it. Guess it makes sense to try and ride the Star Wars hype coming from the movie as much as they can.
