I just recommend sticking to the PSOne Classics and occasional cheap PSP game myself.
This is my chance to "finally" play Vagarant Story!
And for a reasonable price, too.
Oh yeah indeed. A friend recommended it to me awhile ago and it's basically Final Fantasy in all but name...which is good for me. XD
Really? It looks very different to me, but in a very good way. I love how deep the combat seems. RPGs are too simple these days.
Well...I've only heard this from a few articles and one impression of it...
It's not as deep as Valkyrie, right?
If you mean Valkyrie Profile, then yeah, it's deeper. Granted, I don't think VP was particularly deep at all as far as combat was concerned. I got away with just mashing buttons and spamming magic attacks when I felt like it. I never had to think at all. Granted I never made it to the end game, which is apparently the only part of the game that actually matters.
If you mean Valkyrie Profile 2, then it's deeper in terms of having more options, but it's less complicated. Granted, VP2 is one of the most convoluted games I've ever played, with an impenetrable level of complexity.
If you mean Valkyria Chronicles, then that's an unfair comparison. VC is a strategy game, and will naturally have more depth because it's the entire point of the genre.
Nobody has mentioned one of the best games on PSN. Critter Crunch. It should be getting more attention now that all PSN Plus members are getting it for free. Even if you aren't a PSN Plus member, this game is only $6.99 and totally worth it. Buy it, play it and love it!

Damn, sorry I mean the former series. Not really into an RPG entirely based on one mythology. XD
I see...but I'd rather learn the controls so I can have fun with the battles.
Valkyria Chronicles is awesome...best game this gen IMO.
Got this $20 PSN card as a late Christmas gift from my uncle, and want some suggestions fow what PS3 PSN game(s) I should get. I'm willing to add some on for tax if it's $19.99, but no more than that. So any recommendations? Some of the best games on the service for $20 or less?
I already have Flower, MM9 & 10, Sonic Adventure, FFVII and FFIX.
@zez Sonic 4. But too bad that sale went away I think. I'd say Scott Pilgrim Vs the World if you like Beat em' ups or Pacman Championship Edition DX if you like arcade style games. Btw, there are demos of all those games.
Ya know I had this funny feeling you would be the first to respond, and I knew that you would recommend those exact games. Great (well at least one of us) Hylians (well at least one of us) think alike I suppose. or it could be that according to your BL, those are all of the games you have except for Sonic Adventure, which I have :3
Anyway, I've played all of those demos, and I hate Sonic 4, don't really like beat-'em-ups even though Scott Piligrim seems awesome(might get if sale comes) and the Pacman demo is on my to buy one day list just not with this card. Wanna get the best games available right now, and of course if Pacman is one of them then I'll consider buying it :3
Nah, I don't like Final Fantasy at all. That is why I have FFI, IV, VI, VII, IX, X, and XIII just so I can laugh at how horribly horrible the series is.
But really I don't see what this game and FF have to do with each other, other than the fact that they share a title and there's some characters from the game. The gameplay and well, everything has not much to do with the main series.
@Gmls: I've been wanting that for a while now, I'll definitely consider that one
