As a huge fan of Kongregate, I'm really surprised I haven't seen a thread like this before. This is a thread where you can share user-names, talk about flash games and stuff on the website.

I have noticed that the site has been down for a few days. Anybody else have this problem? I'm not sure if they're updating the site, or if it's just my computer. Anybody know?

Kongregate is really good. I used to play VVVVVV with the power-up rewards points I had, and the people I met in the chat room were really nice, even if I was pretty immature back then on the internet.

I always forget about that site. It's like what I always wished Newgrounds would be. I don't remember any of the games I played, but there used to be some good ones that I'd play for hours. Good times.
I totally forgot about Kongregate! It's where I would hang out all the time ~2009-11 when I didn't have any serious consoles of note. I remember sinking hundreds of hours into the Mardek RPG series. I've also spent lots of time playing Elements, which is one of the greatest free card battle games available.
always thought I'd change to Gyarados after I turned 20 but hey, this is more fitting I guess. (also somebody registered under the original Magikarp name and I can't get back to it anymore orz)
I played Elements, and...I don't get it. Can you not target Monsters? It's just a race to put as many monsters on the field as you can? That sounds off balance to the max...

It's a lot like Magic the Gathering - there are certain spells and abilities which can target monsters. There are also shields which mitigate damage from monsters. The card game does seem a little unbalanced at first (the meta revolves around a shield which prevents all damage for 3 turns, for example), but that doesn't stop deck building from being fun imo. It does get a little grindy towards medium-high level play I guess
