Does anyone else have a iPhone or mobile device that they use from time to time for gaming?
I realise this forum is filled with people that don't think the iPhone offers any kind of good gaming experience, but I can say for sure that beneath the surface there are some really, really good games to go with the casual games (some of which are also great fun).
For instance - Romance of the Three Kingdoms is one of the most hardcore simulation/ turn based strategy games you'll ever come across. It makes Advance Wars look very, very simple by comparison, and yet, Romance of the Three Kingdoms is on the iPhone.
I've also been playing around with some casual games on the other side of the coin - as a Beached Az fan, I quite enjoyed that App/ game.
Yesterday I made my first iPod Touch gaming purchases. I bought Plants vs Zombies, great game, very addictive, Tetris, Pocket God and Duke Nukem 3D. I mostly bought Duke just to see how a FPS works on the iPod. Not well. I didn't expect it to be good, though.
The Game.
Is it after 9PM EST? You should probably ignore the above post.
iPod touch is great for gaming! I have A LOT of games on it. It would take me a couple days to list them all. But some examples are COD: Zombies, Tetris (great iPhone port) , Pocket God, Angry Birds, NFS: Undercover, and Chalkboard Stunts.
I actually disagree with you RandomWiiPlayer, I have found FPS's to actually work great on the iPod. Although COD Zombies is $10, if you ever get around to playing it, you'll see how smooth and funcitonal the dual-stick controls work. I also have one other FPS, called N.O.V.A., its like a Conduit sort of thing.

(just broke out my phone to check my library) I also recommend: Mega Jump (kind of like the opposite of FallDown, that old graphing calculator game) Pix'n Rush (cool retro styled time based platformer) Fieldrunners (great tower defense game) Angry Birds Fastar (time based RPG) Words with Friends (online scrabble)
Angry Birds is AMAZING!!!!! I also love Doodle Jump, Tilt to Live, Flight Control, Plants VS. Zombies, Rolando and its sequel and Chopper 2. So yeah I use my iTouch quite a bit.

I have the HTC Hero and pretty much all I play is Bonzai Blast and World War. I havent checked in awhile to see if any good strategy games such as Romance have launched yet, but hopefully soon we will see some.

I downloaded Nobunaga's Ambition on the iPhone today, gave it a quick whirl. Seems like a slightly less complex, Japanese-history version of Romance of the Three Kingdoms, which is fine by me.

Uniwar is fun, check it out.
I will check it out, thanks for the heads up man.

I've got an iPhone 2G so I feel lucky to be able to run anything at an acceptable rate nowadays. I used to have a massive Tilt to Live and Canabalt fixation, but nowadays I find myself hitting up the puzzling Helsing's Fire, the chompy Super Mega Worm and the anger-bouncing Squareball.
Does the iPad count? I have over 20 games for it, haha.
I'd say the best hidden gem I've found so far is Ninjatown: Trees of Doom! It's one of those climbing arcade games. Very, very fun. Unfortunately it crashes after awhile on the iPad (and thus I have to restart to get it working again), but it looks like the iPhone version isn't plagued by that issue.
I haven't seen anyone mention Real Racing yet - it's definitely the best iDevice racer out there right now. It absolutely blows Need for Speed: Shift out of the water.
OH YES, and Monkey Island 2 recently came down to 5 bucks. I've been having a lot of fun with that one too. :3
Also, I can neither confirm nor deny that I am or am not developing what may or may not be an iDevice game.
Ninjatown: Trees of Doom! is pretty good. It's not the best but it's fun (I have the iTouch/Phone version btw). The best "hidden gem" (at least hidden as far as I can tell....) I've found is Tilt To Live. I got it when it was free thanks to FreeAppADay.com (which everyone needs to check out), and it remains a game I play regularly more than 4 months after I've bought it.
@Pixelman So, wait, is the free version just a demo version or something? Either way, it would defientely be worth $4 IMO, especially if it's been enhanced for iPad purposes.
