Topic: Can anyone introduce me to a challenging Platformer that is not slow

You can get Super Mario Maker and search for "kaizo" stages - there's a ton of them and some are known to take hours of practice to beat. Check Panga's on youtube.
On the eShop, Cloudberry Kingdom comes to mind - a fast paced, randomly generated platformer where the more you advance, the more traps and dangerous stuff will be thrown in the levels. I thought it was pretty good, although you may want to get it on PC because the WiiU version doesn't have online leaderboards.
Hard but slow? Try La-Mulana on WiiWare - one of the hardest action/platformers I've ever played, even though the challenge is not much in dexterity as in figuring out what to do and where to go.

Top-10 games I played in 2017: The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild (WiiU) - Rogue Legacy (PS3) - Fallout 3 (PS3) - Red Dead Redemption (PS3) - Guns of Boom (MP) - Sky Force Reloaded (MP) - ...

@Snow-Dust

I have the perfect game recommendations for you.

Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze [Wii U]
Donkey Kong Country Returns [Wii/3DS]

Not only are these some of the most challenging platformers, the level design is built with speed running in mind. Every single platform, every single enemy, every single placement of everything is pre-ordained, and you won't appreciate it until you actually attempt the trial runs and watch the videos per stage of the top 10 speed runs (can watch from in game right in the menu for each stage you beat, can upload videos too) and see the shortcuts they take and how they do it that you will truly come to understand how immaculate the level design truly is.

I'm telling you, I love me a good tough platformer, and these 2 are the greatest I've ever played. The time trials can addict you for years. Seriously. I got so good I had the 2nd fastest run in the world on 6-K without taking damage (12th fastest if including damage runs). It's amazing.

I find them both rather easy >.> though the extra stage in each world and after the game did give me a good challenge

Depends on your definition of "easy".

I mean, I 100% both of them. Wasn't incredibly difficult as it is for some people, however, in comparison to most platformers these games are easily in the top 5 percentile for difficulty.

So if you're on a mission to find the hardest platformer in the world, maybe keep looking but, these games are definitely harder than the vast majority of others.

But try the speed running. You won't think that's easy. Even placing in the top 100 takes incredible practice and skill. Land in the top 10? You'll need to be the best in the world.

@JaxonH Hey, I can give you photo evidence of my 100% completion if you want (not returns though since my Wii is gone). I never really tried the speed running part so maybe I'll hop back on just to do that in terms of difficulty, yea, you are correct. Platformers these days are too easy while the NES ones are too punishing (completing whole game in 3 stock etc is too punishing haha, don't have the patience for endless trials and errors anymore) so usually I find the SNES era has the best platformers

@ogo79 I shall!

I thought you'd like the speed running since you mentioned Rayman Legends Challenge mode, something I also loved and also loved the DKC speed runs.

I'd also say Yoshi's Wooly World and Yoshi's Island but those are incredibly easy. Fun though, just a different kind.

And you've played both Rayman Origins and Legends, right? And all the main line Mega Man and Mega Man X games, right?

The absolute best I could recommend is Ori & the Blind Forest. That's maybe the greatest platformer Ive ever played in my life (and it follows a Metroidvania blueprint), but you'd need an Xbox One.

Cave Story is a great game as well as Vvvvvv. Shovel Knight is solid, and Teslagrad might be worth looking into. Oh and BoxBoy and BoxBoxBoy. Those are great. Fez is a really interesting game. And Tembo Badass Elephant might be your thing. Or Dust Elysian Tale.

Just brainstorming here. Hopefully something in this post can lead you to what you're looking for.

And Shantae Pirate's Curse. That game was excellent. And some decent challenge too. Might wanna keep an eye on Shantae Half Genie Hero which drops this October.

@JaxonH I didnt even know DKRTF had speedrunning implemented haha. Like you said, Yoshi games are way too easy. Played both Origins and Legends, good games, easy but the speed runs are are incredible. Finished all megaman and X series in existence, X4-6 are my favorite. I've always wanted to play Ori, thanks for reminding me Cave story doesnt look that good to me >.> Shovel Knight Plague Knight is AWESOME, the flow and controls are all so right, playing as shovel knight felt bad due to how small his hitbox is (compared to Zero from X series). Teslagrad, I shall look into it. Tembo looks good so I will pick it up when I have the chance. Dust Elysam Tale, first time hearing it, shall look into it. Shantae makes awesome speed run at second playthrough

Thanks for the suggestion

@ogo79 Hearing you keep talking how hard it is makes me want to tackle it now. Which platform is it on?
