I got Tetris Party Live on DSiWare and decided to make a friend code thread for it. If anyone else gets this game be sure to put your friend code here for other Tetris players to see and register. I'll be registering all that post in this thread. It turns out that Live is compatible with the DS cartridge release: Tetris Party Deluxe. So, If anyone has that game then feel free to add your friend code here!
I think am better off getting the Tetris Party Deluxe then the DSiware one. Mostly because, I can trade it back when i'm done with it.

I registered you iphys! Also, I hope that this download is online compatible w/ the cartridge release. That should give a much wider pool of people to play online. Although, I'm not sure it is because in the first hour of have the DSiWare version, I couldn't find a soul online to play with so either not one person w/ deluxe was online, or they're not compatible.
The online battle seems identical, so they should be compatible. They even have the Field Climber item even though this game has no Field Climber mode. I just went online and had no problem finding players for items, I think because it is the default. I always had problems finding players for items OFF on TPD because of that, so I imagine it will be the same for this game. I find playing with the items really annoying though, so I wish they would have made items OFF the default.
That might just be the reason. I also noticed that every time you go online it is automatically set to items on. People need to pay more attention when they go online I guess. I share your disdain for items in Tetris. It feels like it just ruins the blissful simplicity that is Tetris with un-needed crap...
In that case, maybe they are compatible! Since you have Tetris Party Deluxe, how is the online community on that one usually? I know the community on Tetris DS was excellent but I think that one sold many more copies than deluxe.
The official website confirms that Vs Battle in Tetris Party Live also connects with Tetris Party Deluxe players!
I think I'll get Tetris Party Live (I love the idea of having Tetris on the go without swapping game cards) but I have a few questions. If you could tell me about these I'd be grateful. I know some of these will only be answerable later on when the game picks up steam though.
1. Different options when playing online. How many players can you play with? Can you turn items on/off? How many game modes are there available online? 2. Friend options. TP Deluxe allows you to use voice chat with friends in the lobby. Does TP Live have this? 3. Busy-ness of online servers. Are there lots of people playing? 4. DS Download Play. Is this available? 5. Single player options. Game modes? What's available?
EDIT: Ah well, I downloaded it. Tetris Party on WiiWare was great and I have faith in the Tetris Party series. I'll post my FC soon!
1.There arre 4 main online sections: World Battle, Friend Battle, Duel Spaces World Battle, and Duel Spaces friend battle. World battle is just standard online Tetris for 2 people and has the ability to turn items on/off although, since "on" is the default for this, it is much easier to find players with items on, annoying I know. Item battles can have up to 4 people. Friend battle is the same as World Battle but with friends. the Duel Space thing is something like trying to take more game board space than your opponent. I haven't actually played this one yet so I don't know much. 2. There is an option for voice chat amongst friends which I thought was a nice thing to habve for a DSiWare release, I believe this is the first DSiWare game to offer this. 3. If you search no items, it will take you a while to find people, at least for now. Searching with items on gets alot more people. 4. Nope, not that I can see, very disappointing. 5. Under the single player option is Marathon and a battle with the CPU. It has your basic options like level start, endless/not endless, ghost on/off. There are no other offline features that I can see. Sort of Bare-bones but hey, Tetris is Tetris. Overall, good package, I also love the idea of always have online enabled Tetris with me. I would say 8/10
Since Tetris Party Deluxe players can add us, maybe you should rename the thread to "(Global) Tetris Party Deluxe/Live Friend Codes". I wonder if we can play with people who have the Wii version of Deluxe. Hmm... I wonder if I can add my Tetris Party WiiWare FC.
I tried adding a Wii Tetris Party code into Live. No luck. That would be sweet if they made it so Tetris Party, Tetris Party Deluxe Wii, Tetris Party Deluxe DS, and Tetris Party Live could all play together. The online community would be massive!! Oh well...I think I will rename the thread since this game is compatible w/ Deluxe DS.
