At first I thought it'd just be yet another Minecraft cash-in clone, but after reading reviews it seems like an awesome merger between the two series. I love the Dragon Quest aesthetic.
You?

For me... I would say TWEWY Final Remix and Octopath Traveler for this year
I'd momentarily forgotten about TWEWY! Seems like such a cool game and I never got to play it on the DS. That's def on my list, too.
Haven't heard of Octopath Traveler, but it looks cool. I like the Bravely Default-esque style.
edit: looking into Octopath and it looks amazing. Like what I'd dreamed the future of gaming would be in the SNES era. Nintendo is coming for my wallet in 2018 haha

@NintyPricer I find it's really cool game, I already played it twice on DS! Definitely much excitement for the Switch version which will have the extra scenario as well... Hopefully more information will be coming in the future (And I hope the release date is really soon >_<). The pins, and then trends etc are really interesting too
And Octopath Traveler has demo on the eshop if you want to try it out
I'm really looking forward to Mario Tennis Aces. I've always liked tennis games going right back to Wimbledon on the Master System. Ultra Smash on Wii U was a major disappointment but it was only that way because of lack of modes. The foundation for a great tennis game was there and the graphics were great. Add more stadiums, court surfaces,a story mode and a variety of online modes then we should have a winner. Oh and motion controls too which will surely be included. With the much improved motion controls the Joy-con offer over the Wii then this should hopefully be the optimal way to play it,providing they don't overly simplify them. Going by how much control ARMS gives you over your fighter I think they'll do it right this time. Grandslam Tennis by EA on the Wii had brilliant Motion+ controls that added so much to the experience. That came out 9 years ago so surely Nintendo can take them to the next level.
As for indie games, there's lots to choose from but I'm most looking forward to Outlast 1&2 which are supposedly both coming before the end of March. Not sure if they're going to release them both at the same time, if not then we might see the first one sometime in February. Can't wait!
Tough question as my hype for Monster Hunter World and Dragon Ball Fighter Z is through the roof right now. Indie-wise, I‘m excited to play Owlboy on my favorite console again and FE for the first time. Bayonetta 1+2 definitely needs to be mentioned, and so do Kirby and Dark Souls. Just not in the 'Oh my god, I CANNOT wait anymore' sense of excited.

I'm excited for Yoshi, especially since I enjoyed Woolly World quite a bit. After that it would be Octopath Traveler and Kirby. I played the Dragon Quest Builders demo, and liked the new elements it brings to the Minecraft world, such as the blueprints, town building, and missions. Unfortunately since they've announced DQ Builders 2 will be coming to the Switch, I'll hold off on getting this one just to see what the new one will bring.
Speaking of Dragon Quest, I am looking forward to XI, since I've always wanted to try a DQ game.
The Animal Crossing game that is likely to come soon. When it comes to already announced games, I guess Pokemon, even though I'm not even really that excited for that.
Theoretically, Metroid Prime 4. Since we don't know much about that game (which I would love to be fantastic) Kirby Star Allies has to take the current hype. Bayonetta 1+2 is a close second though, never had it on Wii U and when I wanted to get it the retail was 100+ bucks :/
People might think I'm childish for my picture, and I am.
Favorite games: Super Mario Odyssey, Super Metroid, Mass Effect 2, Red Dead Redemption, and Sonic Generations

It would have been Hollow Knight, but having been aware of the game since it first hit Steam and then waiting all this time, and continually seeing positive things about it, I'm kinda expecting it to end up underwhelming. Just seems to be the way these stories go. Similar feeling about Owlboy.
On the retail side, I'm looking forward to Dark Souls and Wolfenstein 2, and Fire Emblem and Metroid Prime, but with FE and MP there are earlier games in the series that I'm yet to play (all of them in FE's case), so I probably won't be getting them Day 1.
So really, I think I'm probably most excited about an unannounced game - I'm optimistic there's some great stuff yet to be announced and hoping one of them will be right up my street.
@gcunit In regards to Hollow Knight I don't think you should be worried. My friend (one that hates metroidvanias... somehow) absolutely loved it. Like any indie game I don't think you should necessarily get "hyped" but I'm sure you will very much enjoy it.
Owlboy on the other hand has been a little too showered with praise, honestly it was pretty weak. Very pretty and good music, but that's about it imo

Pokemon... I guess. I hate to even have to say "I guess", but Pokemon Generation VII was so disappointing to me that Game Freak really needs to show me that the Switch game will be good before I can get excited for it, sadly.
Otherwise, there really isn't anything confirmed that I'm too excited for. Mario Tennis Aces might be fun, because I used to love the Mario Tennis series back in the early 2000s, but it has been that long since I've played one. I just haven't been interested since.
@Dev Off topic but, since I am also excited for Kirby I wanted to just say something that would make the game even better. You're right the Return to Dream Land stages aren't very well designed, but I'm dreaming of the idea that they can come back in Star Allies with the new engine. Kinda like how Rayman Legends did so with Rayman Origins. That would be so cool!
