Topic: Try playing with detached Joy-Con controllers

The motion controls enable extra options!
There are other control styles available as well.
When using detached Joy-Con controllers, attach the straps, and hold the controllers tightly.

1. Are you tired of seeing this screen?
2. Tough! I'm going to show it every time you boot Super Mario Odyssey.
3. Get use to it, kid.

Sorry if I'm late to the party, but this screen drives me bat-poop crazy.
Is there some way to be sure I never see it again?

Rather than leave the screen blank during initialisation, developers may opt to include messages/splash screens etc. In other words, that message isn't there to be annoying (necessarily). The game itself is loading in the background.

"Gee, that's really persuasive. Do you have any actual points to make other than to essentially say 'me Tarzan, physical bad, digital good'?"

And here I thought this might be a post highlighting what I think is the Switch's true innovation.

Detached and separate joy-cons allow you to play while sitting in a more natural and comfortable position. No more arms-forward back-slouched stiffness-inducing nightmare, just a comfortable position in your rear-receptacle of choice, enjoying your dopamine-inducing entertainment.

Currently procrastinating on: implementing virtual memory and synchronization.
Currently distracted with: Mario Tennis Aces

After getting used to split joycons with motion control, I can't really enjoy the game in handheld anymore. Anyone else who feels that way?

If you go to use the bathroom right after booting the game up you shouldn’t have to see it.

We don't stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing.

Put Mario Odyssey in Sleep Mode and don't close it - that way I saw the screen maybe twice or thrice.

Complaint about loading screen. Uh huh, ok.

Close your eyes for a few beats and find zen. Switch is as fast or faster than any other modern gaming device I own, so maybe perspective would help.

Actually probably just stealth motion control hate. I see it now.

Anyway, I don't like the ergonomics of most handhelds. Instead I've long been a heavy user of the tabletop portable (Tablets, Wii U, Laptop) and this is what the Switch does better than anything else. Every Switch owner should invest a solid mount and good portable stand or two.

Do it right and you have the most comfortable, most chill portable gaming available. Might help with the angst, fella.

It's really just the loading screen.

Other games leave it blank, others put a logo. Mario uses it to tell you about the motion controls.

Bloop.

I've been playing a lot of Minecraft Switch Edition recently & there are definitely no additional motion features... and this loading screen hasn't appeared once. Instead there are the usual loading bars & a witty comment about Notch.

Maybe just sell all the games that have the offensive loadscreen & just play Minecraft Switch?

@Meowpheel Well that's simple then... only one game to sell.

Some games are best enjoyed with Joy-Cons detached. Or it could be we need more exercise to get our brains going. But 1-2 Switch works with detached Joy-Cons it makes for a fun factor more.
