In 2018, I think they'll start line of Wii U ports called "Wii U Hits" with the Switch releases of Breath of the Wild, Sm4sh (not announced yet), Pokken, Mario Kart 8, Platnium developed games (only teased so far), and third party games being independent from the brand.

Platinum games releases.... And thats like all I would want. Cod would be nice a console with no FPS.

In the current generation, ports are more important than ever. Games live on through their remastered and complete editions. But in the case of Switch, it's even more important because the system transforms each and every game ported into a first-ever HD handheld version. Which is why it was such a big deal getting Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

That said, there's only gonna be what, 2 ports from Nintendo all year? Mario Kart and Pokken Tournament, vs all the other new games like Zelda, Arms, Splatoon 2, Mario Kingdom Battle, Fire Emblem Warriors, Xenoblade 2, Mario Odyssey, 12 Switch (if you wanna count that), Kirby and Yoshi (which will both likely be out by the one-year mark).

That's perfectly fine. Couple ports a year from Nintendo, and by the time 2020 rolls around we could have the top 6 first party Wii U games on the system, plus if third parties bring some of their best like Bayonetta 1/2, Wonderful 101 and Rayman Legends, we could hopefully end up with the top 10 Wii U games on the Switch.

I'd certainly like to see Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze, Pikmin 3 and Xenoblade X. Just give me those 3 from a first party perspective... and I'm good.

I don't want WiiU ports honestly. Nintendo has stated they will make a port if it can become the definitive edition like Mario Kart adding battle mode and I'm happy with that. If they just move Tropical Freeze over to Switch it feels lazy and sets a bad precedent for me. If they must port games though, I want Gamecube games over WiiU. I also don't mind when they take the route where they release a new game bundled with the older game like Bayonetta 1 and 2 or Pikmin 1 and 2 did.

Other than the obvious ones (Smash Bros for example ) I'd like Sonic & Sega All Star Racing Transformed. I have it on Steam but I want to play it with my Miis!!!

So I am in absolute worry that I will get another mark for resurrecting a dead thread, since I got a steady finger-wagging for making something similar to this vein of topic.

I will cast a vote towards something easy, but not often expected from Nintendo; Fatal Frame for the Wii U.

The game got a lot of controversial decisions from Nintendo when being released on the Wii U, including a non-retail release for a relatively large game (as in scope). So I would love to see this game take a cartridge route with a small "diary" faded notebook attached inside.

I would make a few functionality to it as well, with an option of the portable mode having a motion control feature for on-the go. And with Social Media being a huge thing, I would incorporate a feature where there is themes options of how to share the ghostly visages you snap, such as ghastly writing on the photo or just share snaps like usual. I would also add a few key sections which the players would experience others "ghost" that would show them their memories of places they've beaten or enjoyed. (think similar to Dark Souls meets Miiverse 0.5).

I would also add a few new outfits from places like Xenoblade 2 and a Mario cap/mustache combo which would replace certain sound effects with Mario ones.

I want the HD real Zelda games ported from WiiU to Switch. But i know Nintendo will take their sweet time in making that happen to space Switch releases out. And also they cant let classic real Zelda games outshine the mockery that is Zelda Bad Breath of the Mild.
Ill also double dip the P* games including the much hated StarFox Zero... Also gimme Pikmin 3 and Switch versions of Super Mario Maker and SmashU. That about wraps up WiiU ports for me.

Dat's cold

Also, Nintendo afraid of outshining a game that sold millions and got critical reviews? That would make them more money

That goes without saying.

Port everything!

Every Wii U game, every Wii game and every GameCube game!

But first get Sega to port every Dreamcast game. Starting with Chu Chu Rocket. If a game ever screamed out for an early Switch release it's that one.

Honestly, I'm perfectly fine with ports as long as they don't go bananas with them. We have two already so I'd say only a couple more. I think that Sm4sh will come, but as a mix-up of Wii U and 3DS, plus some new content so that it's practically it's own game, but they don't have to put as much work into it. I think Bayonetta 1 & 2 either separately, or as a double-pack, and rather than port over Super Mario Maker, I think they'll just make a Super Mario Maker 2. I just feel like a lot of the games people want ported will just get sequels instead.

I know I'm probably gonna get hate for this, but I actually preferred the Wii U's library to the GameCube's.

Here's five that I want:
The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD
Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo Switch
Super Mario Maker
Nintendo Land (You can easily use two Switch systems for the asymmetric gameplay)
Bayonetta 1 + 2

The Wii U's library in isolation is overall better than the Gamecube's IMO. The issue was that most of its games existed in some form on the 3DS. And now the Switch is out the ones that didn't exist on 3DS are getting ports or sequels on Switch.

Even worse the games that were great on Wii U weren't exactly showstoppers. The Gamecube, for example, is known for Metroid Prime and Wind Waker. The Wii gets remembered as the console with Super Mario Galaxy and two Zeldas. Even the Switch we're already looking at it as the console with Breath of the Wild and Super Mario Odyssey. The Wii U is the console of a lot of great multiplayer releases and a fantastic Zelda game that arrived as it was being kicked out the door

WiiU > GameCube
Not care what you think of that.
WiiU better cause it has P*, BC, (even GC w/hacking) and VC and apps. Best ever. Much love for WiiU. Will go hug it this moment.

Everyone should own 3 WiiUs in their house. One for pure, One for hacking and One backup in package. In fact make that 4 WiiUs per home requirement.

Excuse me tea leaf, but Breath of the Wild is a Wii U game. It doesn't matter that Nintendo tried to promote the Switch version with Special Editions and whatnot while suffocating the Wii U version and brushing it under the carpet. Possibly to its detrement, it sounds weird saying that as it's now possibly my favourite game ever. The gamepad may have enhanced it but we'll never know now. Anyway, it's a Wii U game, get your own.
