How is the game by the way? all I know about it is that Mario or his hat possess people and things in the real world

@urrutiap Are you joking? One of the best games on the switch! It's a must have!

@urrutiap Like @dark_magician said, it's one of the best games on the Switch. Odyssey is pure joy to play & explore. I was highly skeptical of all the hype when it released with high review scores. I thought the cappy hat looked dopey before I played it. After I got to the 2nd & 3rd worlds, I thought it was the best 3d mario game I've played, and I still think that. I played it at least twice, putting 80 hours into it. And I didn't 100% it. On top of that, I also played it with my nieces under another profile. And I played it again with them a year later. Statistically speaking, it's highly likely, you'll think it's great/amazing. I'd recommend you avoid watching reviews to save all the discoveries for your playthrough.

It isn't the best Mario game, but it's pretty great.

Yes it's good. One of the best games that the Switch has. A must play for anybody with a Switch in my opinion.

@urrutiap Super Mario Odyssey is an excellent game - the worlds are well-designed and fun to explore, it has amazing controls for Mario (probably the best controls in a 3D Mario game), and capturing enemies with Cappy is a neat mechanic that adds some freshness to the game. My only real gripe is that the main story is pretty short, but SMO more than makes up for it with its massive amount of Power Moons, just waiting to be found. If you love a good Mario game like I do, I highly recommend it.

I explored the worlds as much as I could, tried to get as many power moons as I could find before I moved onto the next world. Playing that way, beating the story took somewhere around 15-25 hours? I guess that's why I didn't think the game was short.

Yes it's easily one of the best games on the Switch, and probably my second favourite 3D Mario game after Galaxy 1&2, which I treat as just being one game.

@urrutiap Oh yes, no denying it. It has so much replay value, creative bosses, nice gameplay, beautiful graphics, an inventive story, and easy to use and fun to master controls. Finding moons will always be a treat, and finally 100% all the worlds is such a fun challenge. It took me around 75 hours to fully 100% the game, and I’m a pretty fast gamer. So unless you’re worried about the price, then I’d definitely recommend.

Avoid it! By far the worst game in the series. Oh wait i thought this was opposite day. Strike that, reverse it!😜

@urrutiap
Unlike previous 3D Mario games, Super Mario Odyssey doesn't have Game Over screen so you still able to continue the games without worrying about Game Over since there is No multiple Marios.
But, it cost 10 coins for everytime Mario died by any condition. Don't worry, there is no negative coins even you ran out of coins.
The game is running on 1080p and 60 fps so you will enjoy the HD graphics.
Also, if you have 3 Wedding theme Super Mario Odyssey Amiibos, you can scan out immediately to get special powers.

Super Mario Odyssey is a must have and one of the best games on the Switch. Its strongest points are its creativity and sense of exploration within its many kingdoms. It generally is a very rewarding, fun game to play.

A great return to sandbox Mario. 10/10 for me. I had a big silly smile on my face through the entire playthrough.

My second-favourite 3D Mario (first is 3D World, obviously)

I will be the other side of the opinion of Odyssey for balance.

Whilst a good game people are too forgiving of it's flaws simply because it's "open world" even though it's really just a series of sandbox worlds, with some feeling barren as opposed to the more tightly constructed levels of Galaxy or 3D World where there's no moment of boredom. The carefully crafted challenges and objectives of the past Mario games have been largely replaced with scattering collectables throughout the levels more like a Lego game which amounts to doing chores rather than achievements.

Also something that bugs me is Cappy's ability to control people is never explained so I was expecting an explanation to come at some point. This started building in my head as a dark plot twist where Cappy was actually controlling Mario the entire time unknowingly and he's true the antagonist in some post game section which never happened. I now want DLC where Mario must fight his evil brain controlling hat master for his freedom.

It didn't really click with me. I'd take any of the older 3D Marios over Odyssey, actually.

I did finish it (I LOVED the ending) and I did collect a decent number of moons, but honestly I was overwhelmed. There are just so many moons to find and stuff to buy. But that's just the way of modern game design, so I just need to deal with it.

But my biggest issues with the game rested in the all-imported gameplay. I found Mario's controls to be a little... touchy? I don't know. Almost like a bit loose. His turning and jumping just didn't feel as "sharp" to me as previous 3D Marios. And another huge issue for me was the depth perception. I play a TON of 3D platformers, it's my favorite genre, but this one really threw me off, especially when throwing Cappy and landing on him. I just found myself totally whiffing jumps and missing platforms all the time in Odyssey when I've never really had that issue with other 3D Marios or games like Super Lucky's Tale.
