@Zuljaras Take-Two is cheap. I can totally see them going the cheapest cartridge route possible and forcing downloads onto the customer.

I'd like to believe Take Two have set the msrp at $50 because the game needs a 16GB cartridge.

Passing development and production costs to the consumer isn't a bad thing.

Tears of the Kingdom at $70 didn't stop that train from rolling.

So when are switch reviews dropping? Might be my next purchase if all goes well. Otherwise I might be good on switch games til next month.

@NintendoByNature Wouldn’t be surprised if there aren’t any review codes going out just in case they don’t come out how Rockstar wanted and affects potential sales

Considering how other open world games have performed on Switch, how confident are we that Red Dead will run well?
I'd settle for post-patch Saints Row 3.

@SpringLand To be fair, there shouldn’t be any real issues running on the Switch as it’s a PS3/Xbox 360 release. Though it’s Rockstar we are talking about so maybe they’ll find a way.

@SpringLand Generally positive expectations. Port quality varies from developer to developer, but most open world games run well enough. The Witcher 3, Starlink, and No Man's Sky fall under "good not great". While games like Dying Light, Skyrim, and Burnout Paradise are great.

@FragRed for sure. Either way, reviews will be out in a few days. We'll see how it shakes out.

@Magician Good point. Generally, I find open world ports can be uneven. Skyrim, Red Fraction, and Burnout turned out well, but L. A. Noire and Saints Row 3 not so much.

I won't be able to play Red Dead tomorrow when it releases. If anyone's playing it, it'd be cool to read some first impressions for the switch version.

Waiting for reviews. But I'm fairly certain I'm going for it day 1. Never played it.

Good news: the game reportedly runs as well as and sometimes better than it did on the xbox 360, plus minor visual improvements.

@SpringLand I would have been really concerned if the Switch couldn’t handle a Xbox 360 port. Even with Rockstar being cheap in their porting efforts, this shouldn’t have been a problem. So glad it did work out.

@FragRed Respectfully, I think the concern ahead of this game's release was justified. Despite how well some ports turn out, quality is not always guaranteed; it's understandable if people exercise some skepticism.

Edit: I should add, PlayStation players are reporting crashes and glitches. Hopefully, this won't effect the switch version.

Well I bought it. Let's hope it doesn't run like garbage on switch.

@Stamina_Wheel cool. I'll check it out tonight after work and softball. I'll probably be playing it all the way up til mario wonder or arkham trilogy.

Switch Up posted a technical review and said it's great.

Apart from the disappointment over multiplayer being removed.
