Of course, the Switch is going to be portable regardless, but won't you also want a convenient way of carrying the dock and accessories, too? This will be useful for when you want to travel to another location for TV use; plus it will keep the system protected.
So, how would one work? What would your ideal carrying case be like? What would it hold, and how many?
I'm debating with myself whether the system would be inside the dock while in the case. The big advantage here is that the case would be really small while carrying both; however, would it be secure this way, or would it jangle around too much? Plus, what would you do if you didn't want to take the dock with you?
I guess my ideal case would hold system inside the dock, plenty of carts the same way the 3DS case does, and a pocket that could hold abou two joy cons, two pro controllers, and all cords. It would be big, but probably no bigger than a tackle box.

ive gone ahead and pre ordered this one. http://www.game.co.uk/en/nintendo-switch-starter-kit-link-s-tunic-edition-1791227?cm_mmc=affiliate--tradedoubler--nintendolife.com-_-banner
One of the reasons I'm trying to get the SE of BotW is the case - it looked lovely in the Treehouse segment, it had space for game cartridges and it looked as a well made hard case.
However it's only available in the U.S so far. Nintendo's own Accessory Set looks nice, but it's difficult to tell it's a hard or soft case. One nice feature is that it has a built in stand; see the bottom image:

God so loved the world He sent His only Son- whoever believes on Him has eternal life. Unless you believe, you will die in your sins. Whoever believes, rivers of living water flow within them. John
That backpack is cute, but I would need to see some pictures of the straps. I honestly don't need to buy anymore bags. I have a collection of messenger bags. I may pick up the bag of holding from thinkgeek (I have the handbag version) because that thing can hold just about anything.
I just preordred the tunic case as well. I like the pdp kits because they have handles.

Yeah there's so many different accessories on Amazon that it's making my head spin trying to figure out which ones to prioritize first. I really love the Zelda case best, because it's nice and small. (plus I love Zelda, and the design is awesome). https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N10SBT4
Some of the ones you mentioned looked good for the extra things like headphioens etc, it's actually the screen I'm the most worried about. The bags and cases will help to some extent, but to me is still quite vulnerable at this stage. And most of the packs you see only come with regular screen protectors which won't do much except protect it against fingerprints and light scratches.
But was quite pleased to discover that Orzly do a really good toughened glass screen protector (like the one I have for my phone, which is awesome!!) -Those things are solid, so stops the screen actually getting broken, so I'm going to make that one of my first accessories so that I don't find myself in a situation where I have a switch but a broken screen during transport. (Because I will be bringing the handlheld bit of my Switch with me everywhere like I did with my 3DS). It was different with the 3DS, as the clam-shell design of that console protected its own screen, but as the switch's screen will be open, taking those extra steps to keep the screen safe is going to be extra important.
I liked this one best https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N9RG3XS because it has been designed to not obstruct it fitting in the charging hub (plus I have used their glass screens before on my phones, so I already know that theirs are going to be excellent quality)
