Oh I wish I could help you but the truth is, I am still exploring what FUT is! Anyhoo, I play a a couple of online games a night and on the whole it's been positive. (Helps when you win...I suffered a 4 nil thrashing once, that stung lol).

I never drive faster than I can see. Besides, it's all in the reflexes.

I saw about 20,000 cards listed in FUT when it launched. Haven't played online yet but I hear it works fine (no direct friend invites, but fine)

I'm having a ton of fun with it. It plays great on Switch, runs smooth, and looks better in handheld mode than I could've ever possibly imagined. It's a solid game.

Thanks for answers.

Yes, I've heard about not being able to invite friends to play but im more for local multiplayer with my brother, my friends ether don't have Switch or don't have FIFA .

20K trades at the start might be either not bad or really bad. Depends if this amount is bigger now and will be bigger and bigger or the exact oposite.

@Qmango aren't these cards for each individual players? How many teams are in this game? (I know nothing about soccer but 20,000 players I'm thinking wtf)

There can be many cards of the same player on the market - that's how it is created and more cards means it is healthier, because you can't really dictate prices of each player. You find the best offer for a player, buy it, and then try to sell it when you find an upgrade or get bored of him. That's why it is important to have a lot of live trades at the same time - the market and the whole fut experience is much better then.

@Qmango ohhh you're talking about how many trades are listed not how many cards are in the game..
Did i read someone say you can make money in this game?

So how many actual cards are there and is it a limit on how many you can own? Also how do you get the cards or can you give me a breakdown on this mode?

I meant virtual money, as in game money that helpes to make more money.

Basically every player in the game has it's own card and you create your dream squad out of then. Better the card (better stats - Messi's card will be obviously better than some player from 4th league, etc), bigger the price of it on the market. You make coins by playing games or trading with cards. When you make enough coins, you buy your dream player etc. Then you play with your team against other players and their teams and climb division, from 1 to 10. There are also packs with players but they are usually a waste of money. There are some more things to it but you can find more complex breakdowns on YT.

But that it's why it is important to me to know how many cards there are on the market. If anyone has answer to that I would love the help.

Is it more popular than NBA 2K18?

We were all sold a bag of lies, Fifa and NBA2k are not great Switch ports. They are servicable and better than the crap Wii U got, but I don't think EA or 2K deserve support with these.

@Qmango That sounds dire, what is the point? It's just a bunch of needless grinding and wasted resources to play the same game.

EDIT: I should clarify, at least Fifa18 is a good game, NBA2k18 is not however.

I've gotta completely disagree.

NBA 2k18 is immaculate. I've been playing the game for the last three days and it is literally exactly like the PS4 version. The last two patches fixed every single major issue with the game. It runs smooth as butter and it looks fantastic- The character models look well beyond the capabilities of the switch.

It's jam packed with content- more modes than I can count. You can play with friends both online or local wireless or split screen with single Joycon... MyCareer, MyLeague, MyTeam, All Stars, Blacktop, Play Now and 2KU, 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, 4v4 and 5v5... there is nothing this game doesn't offer.

Anyone criticizing this game simply hasn't played it and is currently uninformed due to beliefs based on pre-patch issues.

2K18 beats the crap out of this Fifa game.

I struggle to find opponents if it’s just an online match, but if it’s a FUT online match I’ve never had a problem. I find it pretty smooth in general, had the odd lag but nothing too bad.

Not sure about the trading etc as This is the first time I’ve played FIFA in years so still getting my head round it. I have been able to sign some gold players for pretty cheap though

I’m liking NBA 2K18 a lot so far. I don’t have any experience with the previous versions. But from my perspective it’s a fun game. It’s challenging for me being new at it. But it’s rewarding as you get the many mechanics of the game down. I’m still very impressed of the graphics on it.

Ya, NBA 2K18 looks far better than you'd expect for being a Switch game. The character models look like PS4 Pro level stuff. The shot timer is difficult, and very skill based. But I like that. In fact I love that.

FIFA 18 is great too. I particularly appreciate the 1080p/60fps. But now that NBA 2K18 is out and patched, I'm starting to swing my opinion about which was the better approach. NBA is definitely the better of the two. That's not to say FIFA is bad by any means- it's the most comprehensive portable entry ever released and is certainly well beyond the 7th generation versions (which is incredible in itself to have a portable version of FIFA that's able to outclass last gen), with the exact same performance and resolution found on PS4. But I'm starting to wish the story mode was included- I'm rather enjoying MyCareer in NBA 2K.

Sure guys, but these are all pretty bad to me. I'm a massive sports guy, but the only current sports franchise I think is consistently worthy of praise is the NHL series. None of the others really do a great job of nailing the play feel in a videogame sense and include a myriad of useless features and grindy modes that get you nowhere. That's not the kind of sports game I want. (VC? F off.)

NHL is immediate fun, easy to hand a controller to a guest and have a blast together. That's what matters to me.

In the case of NBA2k18, everything about this series revolts me, honestly. And I played college ball, so basketball should be my sports gaming go-to. Nope, hockey is.

I should say I've played a lot of NBA2k18 on XB1 and I think the Switch version feels pretty off in comparison. My friends laughed at it, felt the controls were broken.

EDIT: I haven't played much of Fifa18 on other consoles, but I just find the game actually fun, whereas eveything about NBA2k18 is a chore. That said I think they are both merely decent ports, not noteworthy other than portability. I do not find either Switch version visually appealing either.

Also, NBA2k18 probably received a patch after I sold it, but it doesn't matter. They lost me and everyone I knew who was so hyped for it. Part broken launch, part incomplete retail product... Completely killed any goodwill.

To be honest I'm not saying this is the best they can do on the switch but we have to accept it. Hope that we get even better next year if those versions actually do come. I would say at least nba 2k18 is feature for feature the same as the other versions. I haven't played it yet but plan on doing that soon. Fifa is serviceable. I don't care about a lot of features in games. For me as long as I can get in and get a good game of soccer on the go I'm good. They delivered that.
