@Alpha-2002 I would want it to be a stand alone story for the campaign, not connected to any existing COD or Battlefield game. That way they could feel no obligation to port other titles and consider it a one time thing (if they really wanted, or they could take the engine and do more later if it does well)
I'd prefer something with a real world present or recent history setting. But perhaps an alternate history, maybe a timeline where the USSR didn't collapse or something like that. If we got a Battlefield game, I'd absolutely want some focus on vehicles too. But if it were COD I would like a campaign mission like the one from COD 4 where you're a gunner on one of those big flying gunships. I think it was a C-130. Just one mission would be cool.
A twist storyline where the USSR is portrayed in positive light would certainly be interesting too. And an excuse to use lots of Soviet style weapons.
For multi-player I'd like the usual modes, capture the flag, (team) deathmatch, king of the hill.
And to satisfy certain Switch gamers, I think they need to enable gyro aiming. I don't use it myself, but I know a lot of Switch fans love it in shooters and that's also part of why I'd want the game built for Switch - rather than a port.
I'd like to see the Half Life and Portal IPs make their way on Switch. The Orange Box and Portal 2 would be nice additions, and I'd like some way to play some of the older Half Life games like 1, Opposing Force, and Blue Shift on a modern console as well.
For me, I say we do something completely different... a campaign-focused Team Fortress 3 that's a permanent console exclusive, much like Halo is for Xbox. (Steam is of course the only other option.)
This 12-24 hour campaign of insanity follows Reliable Excavation & Demolition (R.E.D.) and Builders League United (B.L.U.) in the 70s as they team up to face down their common enemy... Plunderers United for Reckless Profiteering and Legal Extraction (P.U.R.P.L.E.). Led by a disillusioned Miss Pauline, they set out to conquer the world for themselves by pitting both sides against one another... thereby swooping in after the fact to get the job done.
Valve develops and writes for it while Nintendo provides them with devkits and (on the console side) free advertising. Except for a few new classes accounting for P.U.R.P.L.E., gameplay otherwise remains the same. New maps, new guns, and - yes - new hats are all present in multiplayer... and whether it's cross-play or not is up to you. A common level editor is added as is a Steam-Nintendo account link service for those who wish to carry their progress between versions.
(Oh... and Heavy gets in Smash to promote the collaboration. )
Arena of valor works fine on switch, so why not LoL and Dota ?
Roblox, garrys mod etc would also be Nice.
WoW classic should be possible.
Would be Nice to see some more shooters also, thats optimized for the switch.
Heroes of Might and Magic, any one of them, preferably 3/2. So classic, so easy to run, and as a casual gamer that the Switch basically is my alternative to mobile games - that would be perfect.
Probably the game I want the most on the switch is halo 5 so we can have a good, online, competitive FPS with dedicated servers. Iād be willing to settle for a well done COD port as it would scratch that FPS itch but halo would be preferred. Aside from that Iād like to see bloodborne on here. Iām tempted to buy dark souls but based on what I have heard about the combat of the two games bloodborne is faster pace and that sounds more fun to me.
I've probably said this in every 'what games should come to Switch' thread but the Kingdom Hearts series would be great. I've always wanted to play it but I don't have any non-Nintendo consoles so I can't play the main games. I'd also like to see Ori and the Will of the Wisps on Switch if Microsoft is still willing to port some of their games.
I'm shocked that Bethesda hasn't ported the Dishonored games to the Switch. I don't think they're demanding games(especially the first one). Bethesda is sitting on a mine of last-gen ports they can release on the Switch, But don't want to put in the effort.
The Harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. When the going gets tough, the tough gets going.
@tadams587 I would love to see a new Sonic Adventure game. I loved the second one. Also, is the konosuba game just the mobile game or a proper console/pc game?
Most of these suggestions arenāt really āgames that should come to Switchā. Theyāre the equivalent of Watch Dogs on Wii U - some people bought it but it was never the right fit for the console or likely to build a significant audience.
Thereās a niche for games like Doom on Switch but itās a niche. I donāt think thereās enough there for multiple competitive ārealisticā online FPSs. Itās just not why people are buying the console (& wonāt be because the people who want those games want them with the highest fidelity - sales will sink pretty quickly on PS4 & XBox One once the new consoles are out).
...
WoW should come and would probably justify the effort.
Madden & NHL games definitely should in some form. Thereās a market there - not the market for those games but fairly significant nonetheless.
Otherwise Iād say the games that most need to come to Switch are games like Persona 3-5, Zelda Wind Waker, Chu Chu Rocket, Panel De Pon (I need that one on my Switch), GTA V (not my cup of tea but itās still a big seller that people would double dip on) and Tomb Raider (Iāve never played one but itās one of the few iconic franchises thatās not yet on Switch that realistically could be).
Most importantly the game that should be on Switch is actually... Wii Sports...
