So, we've just passed El Switcho's 3-year birthday a month ago... and while I still adore it, I do think we could use a few more games to help pad out the lineup. What games would you bring over (from other consoles) to the library, and why?

I'll start: Halo: The Master Chief Collection (343 Industries/Microsoft for Xbox and Windows 10, https://www.halowaypoint.com/en-us/games/halo-the-master-chie...

For the uninitiated, here's a brief rundown: A space opera first created by Bungie Corp. of Destiny fame, Halo chronicles the journey of super soldier Master Chief Petty Officer John-117 as he works with his fellow SPARTANs to take on both the Covenant (theocratic aliens who wish to wipe out all heretics from the galaxy... including us) and the Flood (a squid-like parasite that can turn whole civilizations in mindless, zombie-like hordes), saving humanity's behind in the process. (Later games focused more so on ancient evils (Didact from 4) and, since 5, a rebellion of the franchise's iconic smart AIs.) This fight takes place over a series of rich a deep campaigns with fleshed out characters and a thrilling gameplay loop.

Kick-starting the Xbox console line which continues to run strong to this day, Halo (or, precisely, Halo 2) was also known for popularizing online gaming on consoles as we know it through the revolutionary Xbox Live, a system using MS's existing server expertise to introduce millions across America and the world to the joys and pitfalls of death-match, Capture the Flag, and - yes - teabagging. It wasn't the first to do so (technically, that honor goes to SegaNet on the ill-fated Dreamcast), but Bungie's modes were so fun to play as that nearly everyone had to get in on the action.

So why does it deserve to come to Switch? Simple: it fills the one niche we've been most hurt by - a proper online shooter. Most of the shooters featuring online capability on Switch are either uninspired (DOOM 2016), better elsewhere (Fortnite and Overwatch), or souless Call of Duty clones that fill up the eShop with garbage (too many to list). Adding Halo would immediately fix that by allowing Switch owners to join a massive online community in Xbox Live - one where finding a match takes seconds and where the competition is as fierce as they come. It would also provide a legendary series of campaigns to sink into when the internet is unavaliable, would boost Switch sales due to being the franchise's first ever portable release, and would act as free advertising for the next game that's due out this fall only on Microsoft platforms, Halo: Infinite.

So those are all the reasons off the top of my head as to why Halo deserves to come to Switch. If anyone has any other suggestions, them I'm all ears!

Killer Instinct should come back home. I would gladly pay $59.99 for a
HD collection of the arcade games. Killer Instinct is easily my favorite fighting game. I used to know a 65 hit combo for Orchid on the SNES version.

World of Warcraft Classic (or any console for that fact). Blizzard has stated several times that they can't bring WoW to home console cause they lost alot of the source code over the years and to add almost 20 years of updates and such should take alot of room. However though they have also said that WoW Classic has been built up from the ground up so there is no excuse not to bring it to home consoles. We have seen MMOs like Neverwinter, FF 14, ESO work just fine on home consoles so why not WoW Classic. We know the Switch can handle large games like The Witcher III and Skyrim and WoW Classic is no where near as big as those games. Plus bringing it to Switch will introduce WoW to a whole new batch of players. We also know that Blizzard has a good relationship with Blizzard they did bring Diablo and Overwatch to the Switch. Granted they would have to optimize the controls to work with the buttons on a Pro controller/Joy Cons but it can't be that difficult can it?

@Tasuki Interesting... Y'know, we haven't seen many older PC games on here.

There's Doom 93 and a few indie titles... and that's basically it.

WoW (if they can make it work) and StarCraft would both be welcome additions to the library. We still don't have many of the XCOM games (save for 2 on May 29) and neither Valve nor EA have been all that willing to port over their back catalogues to Switch.

It'll be interesting to see what gets added, so hopefully both of us are satisfied in the end.

The Sims 4 for Nintendo Switch.
EA still owe this game for Nintendo player.

Dance Dance Revolution for Nintendo Switch.
Come on, Konami !
If Konami really want to support Nintendo Seitch just give us latest DDR A20 from Arcade to Nintendo Switch.

@Tasuki I like your thinking - so I’ll throw in Final Fantasy XIV. Not sure I’d play it, but it’s the MMO I’d be most likely to try, given how beloved some of its expansions have been.

Apart from that, every time this question resurfaces, the same few games come to mind. They’re nearly all RPGs (Persona 5, Cyberpunk...), but the Switch actually has plenty of them. What we are missing - much more than shooters (we have loads now, from Warframe and Metro to Splatoon and Overwatch) - is immersive sims. Maybe give us some Prey?

@Anti-Matter Sims I could see but... how exactly is one supposed to transfer the DDR moveset from a floorboard to a control pad? That... doesn't make sense to me.

Alpha-2002

Alpha-2002

@Krull And while we're talking FF... we need the Remake.

We just... we just do, alright? Because as mind-meltingly good as it looks I'm not dropping $200-$300 on a console that's clearly on it's way out just to play one stinkin' game.

If DDR pad for console have USB slot, just plug in to Switch dock.
Or if the output slot like Gamecube, we can use Gamecube slot converter like to play Smash Bros.
And DDR on Switch should have touch screen play as DDR on mobile have touch screen feature to play.

Btw, Konami is really want a DDR for smartphone again with title DDR Ultimate Mobile on this year. They also will release the Dance Pad (Plastic and Metal pad) for DDR ultimate Mobile. How to play it ? Just connect the smartphone with device to display at TV monitor, connect the Dance pad to device and play the game.

@tadams587 Like your tastes, man! To this list I would add:

  • Persona 5
  • Sonic Adventure 2, Generations, and 06 (because lolz)
  • RE2make
  • MGS Legacy Collection
  • Black Mesa/BM Xen and Half-Life 2
  • Team Fortress 2
  • Any Call of Duty, but especially WWII and/or MW1-3
  • Rare Replay
  • GoldenEye 64
  • A proper Forza ( NOT THE MOBILE ONE! )

I think that's all of them (alongside what I mentioned above). If I think of anything else, I'll let ya know.

@Krull Definitely they need more shooters. With that said I wouldnt mind seeing Modern Warfare or even CoD: Mobile come to Switch.

@Tasuki Mobile's most likely, but I'd kill for a good COD port right about now. Just to try it out, ya know?

@Alpha-2002 I'd love to see Master Chief collection on Switch. I didn't like any Halo game beyond Halo 4 anyway. So 1-3 and Reach would be perfect for me. That said, Phil Spencer seemed to denounce more MS games coming to Switch recently, so I wouldn't hold your breath. Even though I agree it would be an awesome addition.

Personally I want Mass Effect 1-3. The games deliever what I consider to be the best space opera sci-fi story ever done in video game form. Even if the ending leaves a bit to be desired, the journey is still more than worth it. And while the Switch does have a lot of fantastic JRPGs that I love, it doesn't really have a western RPG quite like the ME Trilogy. Simply put because there is no other trilogy quite like it.

Oh and speaking of RPGs and Microsoft, I'd like the older Fable games on Switch. Also very unlikely but I'd buy them.

I'd also like a Battlefield or Call of Duty title on Switch. Built for the Switch. Not a scaled down PS4 port with features stripped out or a mobile wannabe port that is a pathetic imitation. The Switch doesn't need yearly releases. But one good COD or Battlefield would be a nice addition.

I also agree with most of @tadams587 's suggestions. I played both SAO titles on Switch already and want to play the rest. And I didn't even know Konosuba got a game and want to check that out.

A Kingdom Hearts collection would be great too. I see no reason they can't do it. KH titles have been on Nintendo systems before, why not Switch? (I'd like to believe they are also porting KH3 and planning on a big announcement of all of them on Switch in a couple years)

I also really want a Persona title on Switch too. I think Atlus snubbed us with Scramble. Give us the full meat P4 or P5.

And I agree with @Anti-Matter in that a DDR on Switch would be fun. I just hope they don't lock too many songs behind DLC/micro transactions. It's been a long while since we've have a good console release for DDR that I remember. Last time I played one was on the Xbox 360 over a decade ago. Also Sims 4 would be interesting. But only if they combined some of the DLCs together. I'm not spend 60 dollars on a game, only to have to spend another several hundred dollars buying all the expansions.

Finally, I want Nintendo first and second party retro collections. Pokemon Legacy collection (gens 1-3) Fire Emblem Legacy collection (the NES/SNES/GBA titles), Advance Wars collection, Golden Sun collection, Super Mario All Stars, and other classic titles on Switch. Frankly I blame the lack of retro options on Switch for the rise of Piracy machines like the BitBoy and GDP Win.
