For those of you planning to go all-digital with the Switch, which size MicroSDXC card are you going to buy?
Prices appear fairly reasonable up to 200GB and then there is a disproportionate price jump to 256GB.
It has been said that Zelda will require 13.4 GB of space, and I wouldn't be surprised if some third party games require significantly more than that, so even a 256GB card may run out of space once a dozen or so games have been installed.
For me, it looks like 200GB is the sweet spot and then if I run out of space down the road hopefully there will be much larger and cheaper options.
I'm not planning on going all-digital but I'm hoping we will see a good selection of indie titles on the eShop. As such I have a spare 64 Gb card that I am going to start with. Hopefully when that starts running out of space then sizes will have gone up and prices will have come down.
I'm old enough to remember paying £25 for my first 128 Mb (yes, MEGABYTES) USB drive...
I'd probably start with a 64GB card, since those are fairly spacious and cheap, and slowly upgrade as I can. I think I have roughly 500GB on my Wii U, so a 512GB card would probably be a sweet spot for me, whenever they're available and inexpensive.
I remember buying a multicolor pack of floppy disks when I got my first PC. 1.4 MB each.
Pffffft... I was buying 5.25" floppy disks for my Amiga long before that!
I got a 500 Gb drive for my Wii U when I bought it. Made more sense to me to buy the basic model and a hard drive than the premium. I must have a look and see how much space I have left on it...
