So recently I've been thinking about changing the Region Settings on my 3DS, and it gives me the message that certain features that require the ID, like the EShop, will become unusable, so I'll probably create a new ID as well. What I want to know is: what will happen to the games I downloaded/bought with the previous ID? Will I still be able to play them?

depends, on the 3DS NEVER(unless Nintendo makes an update to change it)
but on the WiiU you can have multiple NNIDs so you can keep all you have(or so I heard)
didn't notice the "3DS" part.

Ok, bad news time.

If you delete your Nintendo Network ID (NNID), all games and DLC purchased with that account will be deleted. If bought any games or DLC before NNIDs came to the 3DS, by creating a NNID, that content became linked to your account. If you delete your account, that data goes bye-bye as well. Additionally, any funds on the eShop will be deleted.

If you have a Wii U linked to the same NNID, the same thing happens. All games and DLC will be deleted and your eShop funds will be removed.

There is no way of getting it back.

A common complaint about NNID was that the eShop is locked to the region it had when you created the ID, so no more region hopping was possible, making you unable to access content and even funds in other eShops.

I will comment in this thread, never being able to find it again.
