Topic: Your Favorite 10 Movies?

We've had a lot of "top ten" lists around these forums, but I don't remember seeing one for films, so here we are!

No particular order:

The Lion King - My absolute favorite Disney movie of all time. It's a wonderful tale, that I never get tired of.

Back to the Future - Probably my favorite movie series of all time, all 3 could easily earn spots on my list, but to give other titles the spotlight, I'll only mention the one that started it all.

Jurassic Park - Another big film from my childhood. My older brother had the VHS and we used to watch it all the time (especially during the summer).

InuYasha: Castle Beyond the Looking Glass - This is probably the biggest "WTH are you talking about" entry on my list, lol. I was a huge fan of the series during middle school, and this is easily my favorite of it's movies. Embarrassingly enough as a guy (and a 13-14 year old guy at the time), my favoritism for this entry is largely due to an unexpected lovey dovey scene near the end, lol.

The Avengers - I've been a fan of almost all the Marvel films (even though I know jack squat about the comics themselves), and for awhile the first Iron Man was my favorite of the bunch, but the Avengers is pure awesomeness.

True Grit (original) - I've never been a fan of westerns (I usually find them dreadfully boring), but I used to watch this all the time with my dad, so I have a soft spot for it, and watch it whenever it's on.

National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation - There are a lot of Christmas movies I like to watch around the season, but this has to be my favorite of the bunch. No matter how many times I've seen it, I always get a good laugh out of it.

The Karate Kid Part II - Nothing says 80's cheesefest like the original Karate Kid films, and this is my favorite of the trilogy.

Armageddon - The 90's had some spectacular disaster flicks (Twister being another favorite of mine), but Armageddon is my favorite of the bunch.

Godzilla: Final Wars - Ever since I was a kid I've loved the Godzilla films, and this one (the newest, and supposedly final one) was like a love letter to fans of the King of Monsters. Throughout the film he fights 10 classic Godzilla baddies, including the epic facepalm that is Zilla (the "Godzilla" from the 1998 Hollywood film).

Currently Playing:
Switch - Blade Strangers
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)

Also don't have a top 10. This is what pops up in my mind in no order

Napoleon Dynamite - I have a thing for dry, dialogue-driven humor, and this managed to master it without seeming highbrow in the least (since some people use that argument against Dr. Katz)
Ghostbusters - A classic comedy, and it's aged very well.
A Clockwork Orange - Last time I saw this movie was a while ago, but it blew my mind, even if it sorta messed me up for more then the length of the movie.

This is a signature.
Link goes here now.
Screw you.

I'll try to list some. Not all of them are in a particular order though. Some I'm not sure about now, so I'll add shoutouts to ones I'll always love.

1. Star Wars (A New Hope): One of the greatest films in history. Helped make me the SW superfan that I am today.
2. The Grinch: An amazing live-action recreation of my favorite storybook of all time. all the spectacle, makeup, and effects are still mindboggling to this day and age of "CG everything."
3.Toy Story: A Pixar classic that I'll always treasure. I love all 3, just the first is a bit more cherished.
4. Spider-Man 2: One of the best superhero films, let alone sequels, ever made. Still wish SM 4 was made instead of a reboot.
5. Invasion of Astro-Monster: My fav. old-school Godzilla film. A perfect blend of human drama, alien invasion, and monster action.
6. Jurassic Park: The movie that brought dinos back to life. A memorable cast, beloved score, and great effects work. I also genuinely love JP III too, because when you think about it, its not very different from the first JP.
7. Atlantis The Lost Empire: The last Disney (traditionally animated) movie I've ever liked. An amazing epic full of great characters memorable moments and a great sense of discovery and its still severly overlooked to this day.
8. The Dark Knight Rises: A truly epic conclusion to one of the best trilogies ever made. Still gives me the chills thinking about it.
9. Napoleon Dynamite: A beloved oddball movie with dozens of memorable quotes and situations. Me and my family love it to death. Its too bad about the animated series tanking so quick.
10. DragonBall Evolution: A movie that had the [dragon]balls to remold and modernize a beloved franchise. Despite failing miserably I still love it.

Special shoutouts to The Wizard of Oz, Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory, and Disney's Peter Pan for being some of my personal favorite childhood movies to watch over and over.

Titanic: Not so much the love story (personally I could have cared less) but I am a huge Titanic nerd lol. So for me it was the accuracy of the ship and the sinking and even the people that make it one of my favorite movies if that makes sense.

Dark Knight: IMO one of the best Batman movies of all time. Heath's performance as Joker was just perfect.

Back to the Future: Pretty much just like everyone else has said its a timeless classic

Terminator 2: As much as I hate Arnold I can't hate this movie one of my all time favorites

Highlander: A gritty 80s sword and sorcery flick that spawned a franchise. Plus the soundtrack by Queen was just perfect

Christmas Story: Just the best Christmas movie of all time. For me its just not Christmas without seeing this movie.

Rainman: My favorite Tom Cruise movie.

Aladdin: My favorite Disney movie of all time.

Lord of the Rings: My favorite fantasy movie, I just listed LOTR for the whole series.

Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade: If I have to explain this one well than you have never seen it and should.

I don't think I could narrow my favorite movies down to just 10.

I used to travel the stars, then I discovered Earth, and these incredibly addicting things called 'Video Games.'
And they said you couldn't buy happiness!

Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid

Pulp Fiction
WALL-E

These aren't in order.

1. Scott Pilgrim VS. The World - Good acting, amazing music, and some of the coolest special effects ever. Plus, a crapload of video game references.
2. Ghostbusters - A true classic. Hilarious and virtually perfect.
3. Starwars Episode 5 - My personal favourite Starwars movie, although I like them all.
4. Kick-Ass - There is something about that whole "random nerd has no powers but still becomes a hero" idea that I just adore. Plus, it was hilarious, and action packed. When you mix action and comedy, I'm always in.
5. The Dark Knight Rises - I liked it even better than the Dark Knight. As far as superhero movies go, this is tough to beat.
6. The Avengers - Oh man, probably one of the awesomest movies that I've ever seen. What a rush!
7. Pulp Fiction - I'm a HUGE Tarantino fan, and this has to be my favourite, although I unfortunately haven't seen Django yet (I turn 18 in a few months, but the guy at the theatre wouldn't let me in), so this is subject to change.
8. The Room - Okay, this movie is terrible. Yes, I put a terrible movie on my top 10 list. It's so bad that it's hilarious. Incredibly funny. I recommend watching it... but be warned. It really is one of the worst movies ever made.
9. Wreck It Ralph - Anybody who likes video games should watch this film. It is utterly exceptional. The animation is great and the voice acting is amazing.
10. Reservoir Dogs - Another excellent film from Tarantino.
