Actually no one knows what makes this lake pink. We do know there is LOTS of salt though. Maybe since Pepto hasn't seemed to have as great of success, it was taken to Australia, dumped into a lake on an island in the middle of nowhere and they dumped salt into it to make it seem as if it weren't Pepto.

I was under the impression that Pepto Bismol was milked from pink cows.
