I plan on playing Kirby's Epic Yarn towards the end of the month, and I can't wait! But how does it stack up against Dreamland 3 and Kirby 64? On second thought, stupid question. But the experience obviously looks and plays a bit differently this time around in comparison to those two. As for me, I've only played and beaten Dreamland, Adventure, Canvas Curse and Super Star Ultra. Ultra and Canvas Curse were by the far the best, while Dreamland and Adventure imo ranged from decent to good.
I'm in the minority for sure when it comes to Adventure....I just didn't it enjoy it that much, It must of been the akward and unsatisfying flying controls. I also didn't like the actual Map area, and there was just something about the games visuals that mildy put me off.
As for flying, I like pressing the 'A button' for kirby to float higher and higher instead of pressing 'up on the D-Pad' Although both options are in fact doable in Adventure. It's just the problem is actually taking off to fly. You can't just press the jump button again in mid air to start flying like you could in Ultra, instead you have to press up first, then start using the A Button. Which right off the bat never stops feeling akward and forces you to instead to use Up on the D-pad which feels clumsy. Adventure imo just wasn't exactly that much fun either....It was rather boring actually in many parts. Dream Land however kept things so minimal and simplistic, after it was the first in the franchise and for what it is, I dig it. Simple, fun but of course lacking big time in challenge.
Here's how I'd rate the games based on what I've played...
1. Kirby Super Star Ultra - 9/10 2. Kirby's Dream Land - 7/103. Kirby's Adventure - 7/10
I can't exactly compare Canvas Curse to the main games as it's an entirely different beast from a gameplay standpoint, and a good one at that!

My my, the Kirby Fan Club has sunk into the Nintendo Life Abyss, time to pull it back out! So, does anybody feel mixed on Kirby's Epic Yarn? A game with highly unique and gorgeous visuals, hyper surreal beautiful colors, a fantastic score(for the most part) great controls, wonderful transformations with awesome motion tilt controls, and it just overall reaks of imagination and is a total joy to play. But all of this is slightly taken away because of the 'next to no' challenge that it left me mixed on the entire experience.
There was no sense of reward or satisfaction when beating any of the levels or bosses. The treasures were sooo easy to find aside from a few...NSMBWii hid their star coins MUCH better, and truly offered some great challenge when it came to finding them. And collecting beeds to get a gold coin? No real challenge there at all either....Even if you get hit a few or more times you can still easily get a gold coin. Aside from soaking up the awseome visuals, music and worlds...I was left kind of feeling unsatisfied to some degree. At times i just wasn't compelled to finish the game because it kind of felt pointless in ways due to the weak challenge.
Anybody else feel the same way. I mean I still think it's a great game and is perfection in practically everything, 'aside' from the gameplay which stems from the overly easy difficulty. I still found it fun....But not as fun as it could of been. Adding in a health meter, the ability to die weather it's from getting hit by enemies or falling to your doom into a pit, AND giving out less beeds and making it tougher in order to achieve a gold coin would of made this game a much more rewarding and better experience.

I still need to get Mass Attack.
My favorites were probably Nightmare in Dreamland and The Amazing Mirror. I've always enjoyed sucking up the UFOs and zooming around the screen, charged beams ready for me to fire at anyone in my way~ And then there's the feeling you get after beating Bonkers and getting dat hammer :3 But having Mirror always stuck with me and owns the title for my favorite ability.
