Continuing my unplanned trend of awesome-but-not-real-Sonic-stuff (cough), this is the most awesome S&K video ever hands down. It's also just a rendered animation recorded over some game footage, not an actual playable fangame, which is a shame. But still, so AWESOME.

Sonic 4 looks amazing, I kid. But so does this.

I can tell it's not actual gameplay, the animation is kind of sluggish, but it looks nice nonetheless.

What really hit me were those sunlight rays in my face.

Even SEGA admitted the awesomeness, though they had their fair share of fanboy rage against them, but knowing some Sonic fans, they'll never be satisfied.

Here's hoping the stages in Sonic 4 are as creative and varied as S3&K!

Also, this is how I remember Sonic playing. Complex paths and platforming decisions. Periods where you have to stop or slow down to be precise. Short periods of exhilarating high speed. Enemies which are sometimes tricky to defeat. Beautiful detailed environments with lots of charm.

It isn't 100% speed - holding right and the "rush" button 90% of the time. With speed like that you can't even appreciate the levels, and you end up falling into endless pits a lot. The levels are not a race. Those just aren't fun.
