Has anyone here had parents who don't play games, but liked one for some reason? I remember as a kid I watched my dad beat starfox 64 without getting hit twice, yet he had trouble turning in mariokart. The only games my family even cares about is snipperclips, 1,2 switch, super mario party, keep talking and nobody explodes, and wii sports/resort. Every other game they treated as the devil. What are some weird stories you have experienced with gaming with the family?
My mom really liked playing CoD: Black Ops online with my friends and I when she lived in another state. Really liked it. But she also has/had her own DS Lite/DSi/N2DSXL/360/Wii, so I guess she's not really a non-gamer

My parents are Not a gamer at all, Nor even my family relatives except my cousins. But, they are Mobile / PC gamers, Not Console gamers.
Only me that still stick on Nintendo Handhelds & consoles + other consoles.
You wouldn't catch my dad playing video games nowadays as they annoy him, plus he's a member of the "waste of time" crowd. I did find evidence a few years ago that a small tabletop Pac-Man cabinet was passed around my dad's paternal side and that he was given a strategy book as a gift in preparation for that back in the 80's.
We were able to get my mom to play a few casual games on the Wii (mainly Wii Sports, and she also went through a Just Dance craze for a little while), but she generally doesn't play video games either.
Currently playing: Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story + Bowser Jr's Journey, Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana (Switch)
I tried several times to get my mother to play some games with me. Even really easy ones. She literally dies on the first enemy in Mario 3.
On the other hand, she loved Farmville 2 and flew up the levels and unlocks in that game. So I tried to get her Stardew Valley on PC. But for some reason she thinks steam breaks the computer... I don't know why, probably read it on some conspiracy theory website or something...

When I still got along with my father I made him play Metal Gear Peacewalker, and he was really enjoying the game. We haven't talked in years, but I'm pretty sure he would be amazed by Phantom Pain if someone showed it to him.
My dad never played games he saw it as something for kids. We did have a NES growing up and I remember trying to get him to play SMB on it. He literally had no idea how to get pass the first goomba and would die ever time on it. However he did like pinball machines and was quite good at them and simple games like game and watches.
As for my mom, she liked SMB, SMB3 and puzzle games like Tetris, Dr. Mario and Yoshi and was quite good at them. In fact she still has my original NES along with those games and still plays them here and there.
