Topic: Mega Man 10 - And Game Series You Never Got Around To Playing.

So, I never owned a NES back in the day, I had a Master System - a fine console in it's own right, but, looking back, not a patch on the NES. I've long since got into the 'flagship' Nintendo series, Mario and Zelda, many years ago, and they have been a part of my gaming life since the SNES - but up until very recently, I had pretty much no experience of Mega Man.

So I decided to remedy that, and downloaded Mega Man II and III. I've now beaten II, and I'm hooked. I also noticed that today (March 5th) is the day Mega Man 10 is released on WiiWare (EU). Quite strange playing a game for the first time that came out 20 years ago, then a game in the series that came out today for the first time - and they look very similar. Strange, but good.

Mega Man is a hit with me - the way you plan your route through the robot masters, etc. And the music on Mega man II has any other 8bit game beat.

So - anyone else played Mega Man 10 yet? Thoughts?

Also, any 'famous' game series you either have never got around to playing but plan on playing soon, or any classic series you recently started playing?

I didn't start until yesterday. Doctor Wily will now be getting owned. Although, only after he owns me, many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many, time.

I started playing the original Metal Gear games in January. They're definitely not for novice gamers.

Mega Man 9 made me a fan. I've since downloaded 1, 2, 3 and today, on day one, number 10 and I loved all of them, even though I could only beat the second one.

Another series I became a fan of far too late is The Legend of Zelda. I didn't become a fan until I bought A Link to the Past for GBA, which kept me hooked and it still is one of my favorite GBA title. Ever since then I have played all of the Zelda games and I all liked them a lot.

Ditto on Metroid. Thanks to WiiWare, i've finally started the Phoenix Wright series. There's dozens of series i've missed out on i'd like to get into...

Hm, I never actually played much of the Metroid series until the summer of the year before Metroid Prime and Fusion came out, so I...erm, sampled Super Metroid and instantly became a fan. I bought Fusion on day 1, bought a GameCube with my "free" game being Prime, bought Prime 2, Zero Mission, Prime 3 and Prime Trilogy on day 1 as well. Hell I even downloaded Super Metroid on the VC within moments of it being released, even though I already have the original cart.

Soooo yeah, I loves me some Metroid. I'm actually kind of glad I didn't start with the first Metroid as a younger kid, I may have never given the sequels a chance, but oh well.
