@shingi_70 Don't listen to this dude ^ ^ either. He's just a bitter Apple hater. If you just want to e-mail your card details to me personally I'll be happy to try and sort it for you
Are you sure you're entering the right code? You should be using the three numbers next to your signature on the back of the card for that. As for paypal, you should be able to set up an account as long as your debit card has the visa/master card symbol on it.
Yes, you will need an itunes account to use the store as everything will be tied to it.

Hey it's not up to me, it's up to you, feel free to choose whichever portable media device you desire. Or... you could just get the same one as everybody else, ignoring the lack of features, the resource hogging software, and the short lifespan. Not that the lifespan will matter, as you will be looking to replace it the following year with a slightly upgraded model.
Luigidude was right, don't listen to me, I f$£&ing HATE apple
I'm really not quite understanding all the iPod hate either. It was my first mp3 player because no other company ever bothered to actually support the Mac platform until Apple did its thing, which in turn really invigorated the whole mp3 player market. Naturally, the others bothered even less after that.
Anyway, I love my current iPod Touch. It's great for music and even better for games. Sure, some may say that the openness of the appstore might be a bit of a detriment seeing how much crap there really is, yet it also allowed me to play some truly great (and some really niche) games, a lot of which would have never seen the light of day on other platforms due to their respective restrictions. Digital downloads is definitely the way to go. Having over a hundred games available to me for play at any given time is simply terrific.

The iPod Nano I have is pure perfection; perfectly streamlined interface that allows rapid browsing with small thumb movements, simple interface with iTunes, and, yes, iTunes is a fine package for downloading music. It is not a resource hog as Machu suggests unless you run it on Windows. On the Mac, most of the interface for iTunes is a fundamental part of the OS, so it's not the same as trying to shove all that onto an inferior and already inefficient platform.
Apple is indeed the Nintendo of the computing business in many ways.

It should be the 3 numbers on the right-hand side of the signature. On American Express cards, it is a 4-digit number on the front, on the right-hand side (it is printed, not embossed).
And even though I'm a lifelong Apple-hater, there is simply no argument against the iPod. It's simply the best MP3 player out there. I've got a 32GB iPod Touch that I picked up from the shop at Cake Poker.
