Topic: How do you connect the 360 to the internet?

Ok guys i just want to know how do i do this?
I have an Laptop and a Router...however i know for sure the Ethernet connector wire isn't big enough as my Router isn't in my room and i am not bringing my 360 downstairs as there is no room.

So can i connect it using my Laptop?..and if so,can those with a 360 tell me any problems i should look out for when doing so(also don't suggest the Wireless adaptor as i am not paying €90 for that rip-off)

You might want to contact the technical support on Xbox.com. Usually they respond fairly quickly.

EDIT: Sorry for the generic answer but I almost always just use the ethernet cable and I'm not too sure about other connection methods.

No its just..i once had a 360 and i connect my Ethernet wires up to my router but it wouldn't let me connect to LIVE.

You may need to forward some ports on your router - I second The Fox's suggestion to get in touch with Xbox.com.

Ports?...what are those.

Does the 360 have a MAC address?
How i got my Wii online is i went into my Router settings and allowed the Wii's MAC address to connect online.
can the 360 do this?
