Hi all, I really need help with my girlfriends notebook laptop thing. She recently had Windows re-installed and there is no sound. Do I download something?

Computers are pains in the ass unfortunately, it is hard to give instructions over the internet as PC's have a knack for throwing a different problem up each time for no reason at all. If I need to do something I am unsure about I usually spend some time searching Google and checking out various tech help sites and after wading through some crap I usually get there in the end.
Thank you, I think the 'net is going to slow to get it anyway for me atm... will come off Internet Channel and Nintendo DSi Browser, see if it works on lappy then...

Exactly what I had to do for my iPod problem after Windows was re-installed...
Just curious - is it just the laptop speakers that have no sound? Have you tried plugging in headphones and see if they work? And the most painful question, is the sound turned up?
None of these questions are meant to be rude btw, just had to ask.
Can't you just go into your devices and make the computer search for drivers?
