Happy Memorial Day to all those who serve, have served or have family who have served. Your sacrifices will always be remembered.
My father served in the Army during the Korean War -- he (and my uncle) actually enlisted with a fake ID when he was only 15 (it was a very different time!). Thankfully (for my existence), he was found out by a General on the day before they were to ship out overseas. Of course, they still kept him in as he was a wiz in the motor pool (eventually working his way to the rank of Sargeant), and back in those days it was easier to look the other way. If something like that happened now (having underage individuals serving), it'd be the lead story on CNN
BTW, SpikeTV is airing their annual marathon of Band of Brothers (aka the greatest thing ever put on a TV screen) to enjoy between burgers off the grill!
Too bad my employer (the university) isn't closed for the day. In fact, I had to give a presentation this morning, when I could have been home playing Galaxy 2 . . . while dwelling on the armed forces, of course.
