I'm not a big comic book guy, but I seen we have a thread for DC, so I figured we could have one for Marvel, as well.

Well they started filming the new Xmen movie yesterday. So excited for that one. I really like how they are combining the cast of the first three Xmen movies with the cast of First Class. I was wondering why they got a whole new cast for First class instead of making the others look younger like they did with Patrick Stewart in Xmen Origins Wolverine. Now it makes sense. So can't wait till next summer but this summer we have The Wolverine.

As long as they don't ruin Deadpool like they did in the last film (which was the only bad thing about that film, Ryan Reynolds was ok, but that ending made my eyes bleed), I'm looking forward to the new Wolverine film as well. I am more excited about the Avengers-related films though.

BTW, I watched that Ghost rider movie a few weeks back, and it was god awful. There were no redeeming qualities to that film. So badly written...

Hopefully it won't be made after that game rightfully bombs.

From what I've heard, they have a script ready but haven't started filming yet. They have some test footage they really like though. Still going to be a very long time, shame...

Don't think its going to happen after Green Lantern. Turns out Reynolds just isn't the bankable star Studio's thought he was going to be.

That and deadpool being the main character of a movie misses the point of the character in a big way. Especially if they play up Deadpool the same way the game seems to be doing. If it weren't for the fact I like the developer and want more transformers games I would be actively hoping the game fails.

I dont know about Ryan Reynolds not being a bankable hero. I mean yeah Green Lantern was a lousy movie according to critics and fans (I myself thought it was ok but than again I never followed Green Lantern), but from what I have read and heard from fans is that he was great as Wade Wilson in Xmen Origins heck to some people that was the highlight of the movie.

Take Chris Evans for example, Fantastic Four was a mess (both movies) yet he is now contracted to do at least two more Captain America movies and one more Avengers.

Anyone looking forward to Iron Man 3?

I probably won't get to see it in theaters (we only see 2-3 films in the theater a year, and we just saw Jurassic Park 3D last week), but I'll be looking forward to it, once it finally hits dvd.

I've never been into comic books themselves, but I've really enjoyed Marvel's movies, especially the Avengers, the Iron Man films, and the original Spider-Man trilogy (haven't seen the reboot yet).

Agreed. While he wasn't the highlight of the movie (he wasn't in it as Wade Wilson for that long at all), his performance was very good and captured a glimpse of what Deadpool should be in a feature-length movie. I think the Green Lantern movie was subject to bad writing more than anything else.

Why do you think the Deadpool game will be bad?
Oh and the Wolverine movie that comes out this summer takes place after all the other X-men movies that have been made thus far. It is supposed to take place a little have X-Men The Last Stand.

Because the bang bang look at me shoot crap up all the way to 10 deadpool is stupid. He works best in group of characters where his oddness makes sense. That or something topical.

Like So
Untitled
Untitled
Untitled

Not a fan of the portrayal of deadpool they're using in the game and probably the move. Couple that with him really only working woth other established characters makes it hard to be excited for a solo flick.

Characters like Wolverine, Cable, Psylocke and Domino are going to be in the game, and they'll most likely throw in Hydra Agent Bob into the game and movie as well. I think it'll be fine. I think the script for the film is leaked and floating around the Internet somewhere, so feel free to check it out (I haven't read it, and I don't plan to, so I have no idea what's in it and what's not)

The Wolverine is actually the sequel to Xmen Origins: Wolverine. It actually takes place even before Xmen.

The Wolverine is supposed to be set after Last Stand. But from what I understand, it's not really going to have too much to tie it to the previous movies; almost more of a stand-alone.

Nope. The Wolverine is the Arc where Wolverine goes to Japan years before he is an Xman. Besides if you look at the chronological order Xmen Origians: Wolverine ended in 1979 (The Island and the battle at the Island according to the film was covered up by the media which was Three Mile Island Accident http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Three_Mile_Island_accident ). When he left the island after the credits he was shown in a bar in Japan. Also if you remember at the end a young Professor X picks up cyclops and the other kids and takes them to his school. Xmen Last Stand takes place in the early 2000s I believe. The next Xmen movie that comes out next year X-men: Days of Future Past takes place after Last Stand.

Read the article I posted above.

Also, Days of Future Past will have dual-timelines, with the cast from First Class time-travelling forward, so it'll sort of fit into two spots continuity-wise.
