Wow same here and I sold FF13 over it too, though I think I kept my save data. It was so amazing, so fluid, deep story that kept you wanting to put another hour on it. Then wham, Gran Pulse. You had zero direction, no idea where to go. You do find those icons to do a challenge, but there's no beacon that's really reliable to point you where to go from that, and then when you clear it, it's luck if you find another after the first few that just do string together nicely. Ultimately you end up wasting mass amounts of hours walking in circles doing a slow and super painful grind because if you try going into that underground area in the back of that huge expanse you get wasted fast. I tired of leveling so I sold it at a good rate when the getting was good (still full price.) It's a shame they couldn't keep the game stable when it went open world as I really would have finished that one.

I liked Chapter 11. It was a nice nod to FFXI, IMO, and I liked the challenge. It was chapter 12 and 13 that killed it for me. You know all those really hard guys in the big world? They get harder, and they become the main enemies. It was at that point that I had my brother play the rest, since he's much more persistant than me.

I do play the games that I buy but I find it hard to keep engaged with one game at a time. Because of this I rarely get past the first 20% of a lot of games that I own.
If I get to a part where the difficulty curve goes up sharply then I find it hard to pick up where I left off before.
There are also games that I love like Pikmin and Little King's Story that I feel I want to get back into but are so hard to pick up 1/2 way through months later that I may as well start from the beginning again (so I don't bother).
My problem is that I'm always thinking about the games I don't have rather than the ones that I do.
I like puzzle and platform games because I can always retry an easier early level to recalibrate my brain before progressing.
