@Tasuki Just as a comment ... Obviously we can't get into specifics since we aren't allowed to talk about specific moderation here, but I've had some mod experience myself on a different site. Sometimes a whole conversation gets deleted because the conversation as a whole has some harassment. That doesn't mean e.g. your specific comment does. I can understand that is a grey area for moderation - should you yeet everything or try to pick and choose which messages to delete and end up with something super confusing which may still imply what was happening?
Are GIFs in the comment sections loading for anyone else? They seem to work just fine in the forums but they don't seem to be loading at the moment in the comments specifically. Wanted to ask to see if its actually a current site issue or just my internet being spotty XD
Here's an example:
The GIF below is supposed to be at the bottom of this comment.

@Fizza I saw your comment and I don’t see the GIF loading. Usually for me it takes a few seconds for a GIF to load on a comment, but it doesn’t load for your comment and it looks like there is a large space on your comment. I do see the GIF here, so I think it could be a problem with the site and not your internet.
And, unrelated, and this is moreso a question for other people to answer, but for some reason the time zones on my account are messed up. I set the time as another time zone and the time is not reflected on the site, as it appears to be a different time zone instead, I think a Britain time zone or military time. I checked if I had changed it on accident, but I didn’t, and it didn’t fix itself when I logged out and changed it again. It definitely wasn’t someone else who got into my account and changed it to mess with me, because my account is secure and I haven’t seen any suspicious activity or changes on there. The time zones were the one I chose when I was using the site on a computer but for some reason they appear as military time instead. Is it just an issue with me or is it a site issue that everyone has been having like me?
@Pastellioli times/dates should automatically update based on your browser settings (aka device timezone). If that isn't working correctly, can you send me a screenshot of what you are seeing, along with a screenshot of your timezone settings in your OS/device and I will look into it — [email protected] thanks!
@antdickens It isn’t a major issue but I tried checking the time zone thing on my settings and edited them but it didn’t fix the problem. I set it as 24 hour time. I’ll you the pictures.
@antdickens I have been noticing alot of spammers posting in threads and then later on going back and editing their posts to links to various spams sites. Maybe having it where you can't edit your posts unless you been here and active for an amount of time or maybe limiting the amount of edits a user can do per day? I don't know if that's plausible just throwing out an idea to stop these bots.
Maybe posts could “dry up” after a while and then they can’t be edited.
I think that's a good idea.... Maybe you have a week to edit a post, and it could extend to threads: if they don't get a comment for a designated amount of time then they would be locked.

I know scores don't matter that much, and I think this might be too much work for little benefit, but I think it would be neat if you could see like a histogram of user scores for a game. And/or a different measure than average, like interpolated median to account for outliers. Maybe it wouldn't change anything, but maybe it would.
@easykiel I've always wanted the score histogram too (or just a list of numbers since there are only 10 and that might be easier than a picture). One issue with fancier statistics for e.g. taking into account outliers is that there often aren't many scores total and people who have never played a game but are angry at it often vote 1. But if you could see the histogram and there were 5 10s, 4 9s, 4 8s and 3 1s you could probably make your own conclusions.
Regarding the concern about spammers leaving innocuous comments to edit into spam at a later date.
I do have a few ideas about how you combat that:
Restrict editing of comments when users have been newly created or have made very few comments
Disallow editing of comments a set time after the original submission (with leniency towards the first post in forum topics)
Detect suspicious changes to comments such as replacing a majority or a threshold percentage of the text, adding links/embeds that previously weren't there, or replacing previously added links/embeds
Suspicious edits might have to be subject to moderation approval or something, like a queue of edits pending approval.
I want to share something that bothering me.
There was one user who keep deleting and recreating their account and keep perpetuate boasting about retro games with wall of text of comments, sometimes they bashed the modern games.
Even though deleting and recreating user account on this website was still allowed, but i think it will be misused to delete all the nasty comments before get detected by moderator.
That should be a limit or something to not keep perpetuate deleting & recreating the user account with name A or B as the same people.
I only play kids games with a few rated Teen games that suitable for me.
@antdickens
I was wondering what's going on with codes.nintendolife.com?
It's been offline showing "coming soon" for many weeks now, and it's usually where I go to get eShop funds as it apparently helps Nintendo Life / Hookshot Media if I buy from there.
