@toonlink what does bill install in goldenrod in this game since pal park takes the place of the time machine? EDIT: @lockd are you serious? that team would get pwned
how about pyro and slick? EDIT: btw I don't see the point in nicknames and usually keep the pokemon's name @lockd understood as ANYTHING at lv100 beats the elite four but why metapods?
I've never nicknamed my Pokemon either but the name Togekiss kinda sounds a bit girly so I decided to nickname it Jet and it would be kinda weird to have one nicknamed Pokemon and five non-nicknamed ones.
EDIT: Also, I like those names so I'm gonna use em!
@Toonlink you could be funny and turn to greek mythology and nickname togekiss Zeus and Vaporeon Poseidon EDIT: I just remembered that the first time(and only) I nicknamed my pokemon was on gold ironically Haunter-Scary Ghost Typhlosion-Flame King etc.
my starting team would be something like (the + ,means "or evolutions")...
Magma: Female; Cyndaquil+ (i have a long history of naming my fire starters magma for some reason) OR Toto the male Totodile+, which was my first starter ever in Silver.
Tohi: Any; Togepi+
Abe: Male; Zubat+ (I ALWAYS had a Crobat in my in-game team in the second gen, ah the good times)
Only in the very rare case i see the Chikorita is shinny at the starter selection screen i will get it and name it May/Flora if female or Gerald/Kurt if male Of course i will eventually get more members... but these are my "MUST" pokemon for this game.
I just started playing Pokemon for the first time in my life with Platinum and although it can be frustrating I actually enjoy it a lot.
I have seen people EXTREMELY excited for these new ones even if they are remakes of the GBC versions. I wonder why. Why they are so special? and if I should try them now or after I finish Platinum?
Well, for me, I'm excited because I really like pokemon, and I never played the original Gold or Silver, so this is essentially a new pokemon game for me.
Other people regard Gold and Silver as the best game in the series, and are looking forward to another chance to play them through their remakes.
And as remakes there are lots of new features. The Pokewalker is brand new, and the updated graphics look great. Those are the only two I can think of, but there's certainly loads more of new content that wasn't in the originals.
Finally; it's pokemon. People eat up pokemon games like vegetarians eat salad.

Pokémon HeartGold & SoulSilver - Pikachu Coloured Pichu WiFi Event Active
For all you American, European & Australian visitors, Nintendo has announced that the Pikachu Coloured Pichu, given in America's GameStop store last month, is now available to be given over the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection for all US and EU games. This event is now running and is scheduled to last until March 25th 2010. This Pichu can be downloaded to Diamond, Pearl and Platinum. Just connect via Mystery Gift and you can download it. If you already got the Pichu at Gamestop, you cannot get this event again. As mentioned before, this Pichu is a Shiny Pichu and gives you access to the Spiky-eared Pichu in HeartGold/SoulSilver.
i'm hyped because the johto ark was and still is the best in the series and it is finally becoming more user friendly.(bright ds screen, wireless link up, pal park instead of time machine limitations, etc) those actually mean more to me than the graphics and new additions. Plus it was untransferable to current gen games before now.(I could go on) @toon link btw I liked your old avatar better.
