I'm not OBSESSED with shiny Pokemon, but when I wanted a Lanturn on my team anyway, and in Ruby I ran into a shiny Chinchou, I saw no reason not to put it on my team.
_{Wait, I just realised I AM obsessed with shineys :l I spent the last 4 days learning how to chain them...}

Man, I wish the Jirachi event was Wifi instead of Gamestop. I would love to have a Jirachi waiting on my platinum for my copy of SS. I wonder why Japan gets all sorts of Wifi events, and we never do anymore. There are no Gamestops in China!!! And even if I was home, I'd rather not, as an adult, be walking into the mall with my DS to download a Pokemon. Anyways, if you are in the US, check out bulbanews.bulbagarden.com for dates and stuff, so you can pick one up.

Nah, I'm not _that offended, and I know what you mean. While I'm moderately interested in shinies, some people are really obsessed with shinies.

I beat the Elite Four by using a team of level 100 metapods. Don't underestimate their power.

@lockd understood as ANYTHING at lv100 beats the elite four but why metapods?

I've never nicknamed my Pokemon either but the name Togekiss kinda sounds a bit girly so I decided to nickname it Jet and it would be kinda weird to have one nicknamed Pokemon and five non-nicknamed ones.

EDIT: Also, I like those names so I'm gonna use em!

• Magma: Female; Cyndaquil+ (i have a long history of naming my fire starters magma for some reason)
  OR Toto the male Totodile+, which was my first starter ever in Silver.
• Tohi: Any; Togepi+
• Abe: Male; Zubat+ (I ALWAYS had a Crobat in my in-game team in the second gen, ah the good times)

Only in the very rare case i see the Chikorita is shinny at the starter selection screen i will get it and name it May/Flora if female or Gerald/Kurt if male
Of course i will eventually get more members... but these are my "MUST" pokemon for this game.
